Currenlty ongoing on Buckuts is a thread that must go down as the best in Message Board history.

TurdF started a thread asking folks to guess a number between 1 and 2000 to see how long it would take. After a few guesses it has reverted to various posters counting upwards one at a time. Currently it is in the 140s.

Can anyone imagine a better use of technology?

The only forms of life I would consider lower than folks who would participate in such a thread are:

1. Those who would read such a thread.
2. Those who would start another thread ridiculing such a thread.
3. Those who would read THAT thread.
4. Those who would respond. :)

I'm kinda partial to the "In what year will the world end?" thread myself. I see it as the sequel to the "1-2000" thread.

I'm thinking of a number between 2004 and infinity...that'd keep 'em busy longer than the Fred Davis thread.

I don't mind their threads. I never understood why others rip someone for starting a thread they don't care for. If you don't like it, don't read it. It's that simple. Why do others feel it necessary to tear into others for posting something they don't like? Different strokes for different folks I say.

I work with a bunch of guys who are into gaming. I don't care for it whatsoever. What gives me the right to tell them what they talk about and do on their free time is moronic and worthless?

Can you imagine if everyone that posted on BN bitched at others for starting threads they don't care for?

The place would be a total horse abortion.


It's a slow time of the year and their threads, though moronic to some, keep some conversation flowing.

I agree with Sears- some of the threads may be goofy, but that's why they're in the 'Tard Room. If I think it's too dumb, I don't respond. Most of it is harmless fun, though. Life (especially internet board life) shouldn't be so serious.

I find it humorous. Most of the threads there are designed simply to boost poster's number of replies. For myself, I would never participate in such a mockery. Er, at least, not anymore.
