And Cardale has pretty much backed it up by clearing Beck in a few interviews I’ve seen. That said, I don’t think I would rule out the impact of contrast effects making Beck look like a genius.
Beck neither great nor terrible. Just a fan “fall guy”. Warriner was ok at line coach, not strong beyond that.Yeah, I’m still not a fan of Beck, but over time my anger has shifted from almost entirely on him to more on Warinner given everything that has happened since. That being guys like Jones and Smith defending him, his recruiting, and Warinner being a traitor.
So, not great, but definitely better than Grinch in retrospect in my opinion.
Thinking the same thing. He looks way in over his head. And he doesn’t have Schiano to blame this year, as he’s running the show. This dude is a fraud. Baylor just dropped 31 on them in the first half - you love to see it.
No.....he was terrible.Beck neither great nor terrible. Just a fan “fall guy”. Warriner was ok at line coach, not strong beyond that.
This is a full indictment on Grinch's lack of defensive prowess. It is now being put on full display for the nation to watch. No more excuses or finger pointing, and Day's dismissal of essentially the entire defensive staff cannot be overlooked. The current results of each one of the dismissed is: Grinch- leading a below average(at best) to terrible(at worst) defense at OU, and his defense may be the main reason that OU doesn't make the CFP, and if they make the CFP get destroyed in round 1; Greg Schiano- retired or just unemployed; Bill Davis- pity hire for a rebuilding/terrible Arizona Cardinal team and Taver Johnson- another pity NFL hire for a rebuilding team. The biggest stories in the Big 12 this season have been how Oklahoma's prolific offense has been brought down by its horrific defense and how Baylor has found a way to keeps its undefeated record afloat.
I'll give him some respect. Granted I think a lot of that had more to do with Baylor pissing down their leg, but OU's D stepped up huge in the second half.Does Grinch get no love for shutting down Baylor in the second half?
I mean shut down cold.
Yep. Pretty rare that halftime adjustments alone would account for allowing 31 points in the first half and then 0 points in the second half, especially for a defense that is normally suspect...I'll give him some respect. Granted I think a lot of that had more to do with Baylor pissing down their leg, but OU's D stepped up huge in the second half.
You can think there were also other problems, but he's never been even average at his job at any stop. It's hard to think he wasn't exceptionally bad looking at the results of THAT team.Disagree.
