Albany at The Ohio State University 2 PM Today

Glad to see the Buckeyes won, since I apparently have to blow somebody to actually see the game.

In this day and age of media, it's pretty sad the layers of crap you have to go through to maybe see a game. We have all of these new networks, and yet they find ways to put obstacles between many potential viewers and the telecast.

Might as well just go back to radio.
There was a live streaming video feed. It is posted on the first or second page of this thread. Most of us watched it on that feed:lol:

Matta was not very impressed with the initial effort.

Matta was not very impressed with the initial effort.
This is coach Thad Matta?s most athletic Ohio State basketball team in half a dozen years. The No. 4-ranked Buckeyes run and dunk, force steals and block shots with their long arms and hurdle rows of seats to save loose balls.

Considering all that, it?s fair to say Matta, bad leg and all, made the most athletically significant move yesterday in an 82-60 victory over Albany in their rescheduled season opener in Value City Arena.

?I saw Thad jump off the bench. It looked like he had a 40-inch vertical,? Albany coach Will Brown said. ?He called a timeout, I saw how animated he was, and coming out of that timeout, obviously, I think that lit a fire under them.?

Deshaun Thomas, believed to be the object of Matta?s ire, was 1 of 7 from the field when Matta signaled for the timeout with 4:45 left in the first half. Thomas made five straight baskets and scored 13 points coming out of it as the Buckeyes erased Albany?s one-point lead with a 17-2 run.

It gave Ohio State a 39-25 lead at halftime, and Albany (0-1) did not get closer in the second half.

PM me for arrangements regarding the BJ.

The below cannot continue for us to be successful team this season. We need some, any, production from someone in the middle for us to be a contender in the Big 10

The pivotal center position the Albany coach spoke of was manned for the first 31 minutes by Evan Ravenel and Amir Williams, who combined for six rebounds and did not score a point or block a shot. Matta said he was satisfied with their ball-screen defense, but, especially against an undersized opponent like Albany, their rebounding was a concern; the teams tied at 32 apiece on the boards. Also worrisome were Ohio State?s 20 fouls, which enabled Albany to make 22 of 30 free throws to the Buckeyes? 6 of 13. The 20 fouls were the most called on the Buckeyes at home in nearly two years.

After loss to Buckeyes, Albany beats Washington Tuesday.

Huskies must've been sleeping, or are mediocre this season.

Washington is mediocre this season. They lost to Minnesota in the NIT semis last year and lost their best player (Terrence Ross) off that team to the NBA without adding any instant-impact type guys. So they are probably a step down from an NIT team, something around a .500 record this year is likely for the Huskies. I fully expect Seton Hall to beat them Saturday.

OSU could've beaten Albany worse if they had played harder. Many of the Buckeyes were not giving their best effort defensively, and they still were able to blow them out after turning up the pressure after that timeout late in the first half.

Washington lost both Ross and Tony Wroten from last year's team, their two top scorers and most important players. They have Wilcox, Gaddy, and N'Diaye back. Craft can and should neutralize Gaddy. Smith/Scott/Thompson should be able to make Wilcox work. N'Diaye is their big man, but I don't think he's much to worry about either.

I agree that Seton Hall concerns me more than Washington at this point.
