Anyone point out the tOSU- Texas symmetry?

tOSU:
2004: Alamo bowl
2005: Fiesta bowl in the year before playing for the MNC in the same city
2006: beat Texas; BCS MNC game

Texas:
2004: Rose bowl in the year before playing for the MNC in the same city
2005: beat tOSU; BCS MNC game
2006: Alamo bowl

Vince Young finished 2nd to Bush in the Heisman
Troy Smith finished 2nd to Bush in % of possible points

Mack Brown has a secretary named Tressel. Jim Tressel has a secretary named Brown.

And so on.
Michigan went to the 2005 Alamo Bowl. Hmmmmmmm........

only, the title game next year will be played in New Orleans, not Pasadena.

Football: Texas fans have many reasons to wonder 'what if?'

Jeff McDonald
Express-News

Texas fans will begin to filter into town this week for their team's first trip to the Alamo Bowl.

They will mill about in front of the Alamo in their burnt orange "2005 National Championship T-Shirts." They will tip margaritas and commiserate at Mi Tierra. They will pay exorbitant amounts of money to hear "Texas Fight" at a River Walk piano bar.

ummmm....didn't Troy Smith get the highest percentage of first place votes ever? I thought he broke that record....

And I think Troy Smith was 2nd for the most points ever behind OJ Simpson.

Maybe I'm wrong....

Not so fast there, smog breath! You make many good points but there is some confusion about Mr Bush.

Troy Smith did indeed set the record for the highest percentage poll ever. Bush only received more votes because there were more voters.

I think what you meant to say was that Bush and his parents received more money from agents than either of the other players. It's an easy mistake to make.

Also, Tressel's secretary is named Broecker. It was Ivoyd who was on the grassy knoll. Wait a minute? Grassy?

Troy Smith got a higher % of first place. Reggie Bush got a higher % of possible points.

Bush had 2541, Troy had 2540. There were more non-returned votes this year than last year.

Remind me again why Aaron Ross won the thorpe? This looks like the OSU game all over again.

Just what I was thinking. The fact that Leon Hall was also a finalist (Reggie Nelson was the other one) may have helped. :tongue2:
