I know NW is ahead, but isn't it a tad early to try running out the clock? They could have marched this down and scored....and then bacher gets drilled for a sack, and now Mizzou has 1:15 to take a punt and score. :shake:

and yep...all they need is 15 seconds of it...idiots...right to maclin and terrible special teams....good grief

I don't know if Fitzgerald decided to do that or if the punter just didn't execute the kick properly. He's been avoiding him all night until that one.

Does anyone else find that drunk driving commercial hilarious?

Stereotypical redneck driving a pickup truck full of beer... East Coast big city guy driving in a giant martini... and suspiciously effeminate guy driving in a car full of wine...

Anyone? Just me?

1st drive - pound sutton (including 3rd down), leads to long TD pass on 1st down.

2nd drive - sutton busts 40 yarder (erased by offsides), CJ Bacher throws on 7 of the next 8 downs, PUNT

3rd drive - sutton 3 straight carries, 1st down. Lots of passes, 3rd and 1, still passing, penalty bails them out. 1st and goal - 2 passes 1 qb run. offsides. 1st and goal - three passes. FG.

4th drive - sutton on 3rd down, first down. bacher with 3 passes. punt.

5th drive - incomplete, 6 yd sutton, pass for first. 4 straight quality rushes from sutton. 3rd and 2, pass for first. two straight passes, get buried with a sack, clock killing rush... punt return for TD.



Inexcusable.

Yep.

The zone/read, shotgun spread whatever one wants to call it is actually set up for multiple RUN options but some coaches get pass happy and forget that part of it.

The RUN is what makes that offense such a pain in the ass to defend when executed properly. When you abandon it, any decent defense can slow it down.
