Not sure about other schools but I know his mom was big on Baylor. My CEO went to grad school at BU and it is a very strict school - think BYU but Baptist instead of Mormon.

Given both of his parents are retired Army sergeants I guess the appeal of that environment is not a surprise.

As per the announcers, Griffin originally committed to Houston, but followed the HC over to Baylor. In hindsight, he obv. could play anywhere.
