Alamo Bowl: Baylor -9.5 vs Washington (ov/un 77.5) Thur 12-29, 9 ET, ESPN

Sometimes I feel like the only person who doesn't enjoy football games that are like the NBA - last team with the ball wins. The talking heads are practically having orgasms watching some really shitty defense.

I like big plays like anyone else, to a point. But when they happen against virtually no resistance it's like watching no contact practice. No thanks.

To be honest I'd much rather watch a game with a 77-70 final score than a 9-6 final score.

I'd rather watch a 27-24 game than either of those, and it's not even close.

If you like 77-70 games I recommend Arena Football. And to anyone who likes 9-6 games, I recommend soccer.

Looks like UW bought the uniforms UCLA wore when USC beat them 50-0 and just replaced the helmet stickers.

I like the normal UW uniforms. I thought it was Arizona or someone when it first came on. Same goes for most teams. I get a little tired of all the fancy fag uniforms. I can hardly wait for Oregon's in the Rose Bowl.

I never tire of Thujone's Baylor Bear drawings.

I'm with you. There's a difference between great offense and terrible defense, even if the halfwits on ESPN can't tell the difference.

It's funny, though. Washington putting up a ton of points and yards = bad Baylor defense. Baylor putting up a ton of points and yards = great Baylor offense. UW is irrelevant to the discussion.

I like good defense better than good offense. However, I find bad defense more watchable than bad offense.

All that said, I'm not in it this week for any of that. I'm in it for crazy plays and crazy finishes. The pre-New Years bowl games are the closest things we get to March Madness in this sport. And since they're all really just exhibitions, I actually expect more wackiness. I want to see stupid two point conversions. I want to see a long snap go through the uprights. There's not much at stake, so let it fly - on both sides of the ball.

Also ,I think Washington settled down and played halfway decent defense in the second quarter. I was impressed with the way they hung in there after being bothered by the early pace, and they did a good job of getting pressure on Griffin.
