Video appears to show Alabama WR Jermaine Burton hitting fan

Alabama is investigating after a video on social media appeared to show wide receiver Jermaine Burton striking a female fan who rushed the field following Tennessee's 52-49 win over the Crimson Tide on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

"We are aware of the situation with Jermaine Burton as he was exiting the field Saturday," Alabama coach Nick Saban said in a statement Wednesday. "We are currently working to gather more information."

Emily Isaacs posted the video on her TikTok account and commented: "Jermaine Burton smacking me in the head while walking past him after their loss Saturday," with a thumbs-up emoji and an #ouch hashtag.

Some of you might not remember (bc you're too young) or some of you might not have the exposure (because you live outside the region) - but the upcoming meltdown in Tuscaloosa is going to rival most anything you've seen. When Coach Saban hangs it up, it's going to be really something.

The most remarkable thing that CNS has done in his tenure is not done on the field or in recruiting. It's getting all those hundreds of rich blowhard donors and everyone in the AD to keep their mouth shut and do what he says. All boats rowing in the same direction. No questioning his hires or directives. And in return, you'll be rewarded with greatness never before accomplished.


Three layers under the surface there are hundreds of people dying to take credit and argue and offer "insight" and direction and advice and everything to climb to the top of notoriety. "This is my program!"
It's coming. But a wave of 9-3, 8-4 years will unleash the beast so to speak.

There is undoubtedly a meltdown of epic proportions coming amongst that fanbase when saban retires and they experience the inevitable letdown that'll follow. I pity the coach who is willing to take over after saban is finished.
