Alabama 26, Auburn 21 (final)

Bama is currently ranked #2 and in the MNC hunt.
How'd that turn out for them last year? Or do they not get judged on their bowl results, because they ride someone else's coattails?
Georgia has been ranked highly, and the Mutts were 13-1 in your 2002 NC year, finishing at #3.
We both know you don't think as highly of them sa you're trying to argue here, Mr. Lawyer :p
Auburn was 13-0 and finished AP #2 in '04.
Last time I checked, Tuberville was making movies, not the reason Auburn lost 11 (or more) games the past two years.
Has your conference had three different teams winning the BCSNC, or had six teams ranked at least #3 nationally in the recent past?
And Ole Miss & LSU rounded out an almost entirely SEC top-5 in the rankings.
I grant you that you might be sick of hearing about the SEC's supposed strength, but people think that for (at least) some arguably sound reasons.
And you never tire of throwing out 'scoreboard' digs and disregarding the extreme 'vicarious success' problem with SEC teams.

Clutch drive by Bama.

Bama will not land their first heisman. Colt is in position to get the award & bowl invite they deserved last year... though I'm not sure either squad was a great squad. After a lot of great teams earlier this decade (Miami 01, Miami 02, USC many times, Texas 05), we have really had a downswing in juggernaut NC squads. UF 08 was the closest we've had but Tebow didn't live up to that billing for most of the game (albeit with a great rally in the 4th).

"This may be a championship drive."

Yeah, right. Keep on telling yourself that. That "championship drive" for Alabama can only come as a win against Florida. Even if Florida loses to FSU, as long as they beat 'Bama they'll get the nod to the NCG. Bama only goes if they beat Florida.
