So the Raiders have traded a 2012 first round pick & third round pick, plus a 2013 2nd round pick to get two QBs in the same season, one with a bum knee, elbow, and attitude problem, and another that is a project with an entitlement problem?

Brilliant!

Don't forget that they are now up against the cap, and reportedly $10 million over for next year with 0 picks in the first 4 rounds (although they will get a late 3rd round pick for Asomugha...too bad you can't trade those). Add in the 27th ranked defense on a team that is the best running team in the NFL (which should make a defense look better), and they are in serious trouble in the future. The amazing thing is their fans are excited about this latest move. They have essentially sold out the next 5 years for the hopes of making the playoffs this year because they started 4-2 yet have zero wins vs. teams with a winning record.

Oh well, RIP Al Davis. I suppose this shouldn't become a Raider bashing thread.

Well, what they've really assurred here, I think is that while Plamer gets ready, something clicks in Boller's head and he becomes the 'the Man' in that can't bench him, can't get help for him because we gave up the farm for som other dude, kind of way and they go 8-8 for the next 5 years.

I've got to hand it to Carson Palmer here though. His hold out to get out of Cincinnati and finally land himself with a proven, winning, well-run organization appears to have been a smashing success.

Oh, wait ...

I'm happy for Palmer. He called Mike Brown's bluff. On the other hand, this is a great deal for the Bungles. I was afraid Mike might have said no to the trade based on his "principles". I guess he's not that stupid.

The Raiders are the Patriots compared to the Bengals.

Not the last 8 years. They have zero winning seasons, and prior to last year their high water mark was 5 wins. 7 straight seasons where the max amount of wins was 5. Even the Bengals have not had that much futility in a 7 year stretch (longest 5 or less wins run for the Bengals was 4 years).

In today's NFL it takes a special kind of suck to only win 5 games or less for 7 straight years.
