The Tigers have no bullpen, one solid starter and a murderer's row on offense. They'll have some fun games this year.

But the pick is still the Indians, assuming two things: 1. Carmona was not a fluke last year and 2. Hafner plays at least somewhere in middle of what he did last year and what he did in 2006.

Tigers win. Much better line-up 1-9 and a very good starting 5. No depth after the top 5 starters and the bullpen in a question mark but the offense should put up over 1,000 runs. Carmona has to show me he can do it two years in a row and the Tribe has a lot of depth in the rotation and potential starters, just none that are all that dominating. I change my pick however if Paul Byrd has enough HGH still for all the Indians pitchers to use......

500 on the Tigers. My favorite team in all of sports, ever. The lineup is murder, and the starting rotation has five guys who have pitched 200 innings. It may not be the best rotation in baseball, but it's top-5 for sure, solid at 1 through 5, and the staff ace might just be the best pitcher in baseball. Leyland's issued a challenge to the starters: Go two more outs, every game, than you did last year. When Leyland talks, everyone listens. Tigers by 4 games or better, when the season is over.

The Tigers should win the division, but too bad they will be swept once they make the playoffs. The Tigers will feed off the horrible teams and the 3rd-5th starters of other teams enough to win 95 games. Thus the reason they are favored to win the division.

But, I will predict they will have a losing record during the season versus the Yankees, Red Sox, Indians, Mariners & Angels.
