2025 AL CB Na'eem Offord (Oregon Signee)

Per poster(305buck- very informative poster) on 11w:
A lot of Offord friends commented on his commitment post that they always knew he would end up at Ohio State. They mentioned how Offord always talked about Ohio State and wore the gear around school. He also wore an Ohio State headband under his helmet every game this past season, and had an Ohio State towel some games and gloves.

I know gear doesn’t always matter, but this isn’t a kid who just all of a sudden became interested in Ohio State because of NIL the way people think. Georgia’s insider said he got word months ago that Offord was looking to get out of state for college, that’s when Georgia thought they were the leaders and Auburn’s insider said Ohio State had been trending all January.

247Sports ranking: 5-star | 98 rating | No. 6 overall
Recruitment status: Ohio State commit
High School: Birmingham (Ala.) Parker
Measurables: 6-1, 185
Scouting Report: A toolsy cornerback prospect with the size to match large perimeter weapons and the speed to cover the deep third. Owns some of the best testing numbers that we have come across thus far in the 2025 cycle with a 4.5-second effort in the 40-yard dash on the ledger to go along with an 11-foot broad jump. Already pretty versed in both press-man and off-man coverage. Rather fluid for someone that’s over 6-foot and can quickly change directions with his agility. — Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins
Notes: Na'eem Offord became the second five-star cornerback commit for Ohio State in the 2025 class with his decision in early February. The Birmingham (Ala.) Parker standout is the top-ranked prospect in Alabama. Offord led the Thundering Herd to a semifinal appearance in the Alabama 6A State Playoffs with five interceptions and four pass breakups on defense, while also contributing 393 yards and six touchdowns on offense and two punt returns for scores on special teams.

Robert Frost said it best, And miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep. It's still going to be a long recruitment, methinks. We saw last year, where a team swooped in, and grabbed a 5* from tOSU. Seems the pre-season is nothing more than positioning and posturing. An tOSU offer catches the eyes of many another team, as Pantoni is noted for doing a great job of identification of players. Then the buzzards swoop in, to try and dazzle the 18 year olds with visions of gold plated Mercedes, wardrobes full of clothes, mere cash, et cetera. Hang tough, young man.
