Zips have the early lead in this. Got a field goal and wth now with less than 3 minutes left in the 1st Quarter they tack on a touchdown.

They came in with momentum, though still a double-digit underdog to the favored N. Illinois squad. They could not have hoped for a better start than this.

Now leading 10-0.

EDIT -- N. Illinois held on the next series by Akron who forces a punt. They got an intentional grounding call on 3rd and 11 when the ball was thwon at the intented receiver -- who was already fallen and on the ground.

Punt was let go by Akron instead of taking the fair catch - rolled for what looked like another 10 yds.
