Akron Zips & N. Illinois

Hixon ran an absolutely superb route. And he was injured/sick?

The guy has heart. He started at safety as a true freshman, and Soph.
He was actually the leading tackler.
When all 3 top receivers graduated Frye asked the coach to put him at receiver. He has been the leading receiver the last 2 years.
He was #1 in the nation in all purpose yards the first 4 weeks of the season. I believe he is still in the top 10.

He will be missed.

Hixon looked like he was dealing with a concussion... the way he was wobbling on the sidelines.. and had that "I need to throw up" look... he smacked his helmet again on the turf after THE catch... and again looked very wobbly getting off the field...

but still was able to talk to a reporter.. so maybe I'm wrong...

I played football with Hixon in high school (Whitehall) and am pretty good friends with him as well as Anothony Jordan (Toledo LB). Hixon was cramped up pretty bad with dry heaves, causing sparatic sweats and need for lack of water. He, and the team just wasnt used to playing indoor ball. When you train outdoor, you have a feel for how much water you need to intake as well as the amount of food you may need. This changes in an indoor arena.

Also, look out for a young DB - Ryan Johnson - for Akron. He was a pretty good DB and WR in high school and I know he will be doing some good things on the collegiate level soon. Hopefully Dom gets drafted, Im gonna have to get ahold of the boy and see whats up with the possible pros.
