Although I've never met this kid, and know very little about him, he really intrigues me as a prospect. For one, I don't know of any other kid in this incoming class that wanted to be a Buckeye as bad as Dennis did. Seeing pics of him signing his LOI was like watching somebody accepting a $100,000,000 Lottery prize. Pure Joy on his part, a sense that 'he made it."
I'm pulling big-time for this kid. Most here know of his horrible loss recently. To me, there's just something so special about the Buckeye spirit and Dennis seems to "get it." "BRING IT" Dennis! We Can't wait to have you here!
Dennis, Mom and family are doing great! Mrs. Kennedy came up for the spring game. She was introduced to all of the families of the players. I took her over to the towers where most of the Freshman Ball players live, showed her a room, then took her to the family picnic over at the Hayes. She bought a bunch of OSU stuff at Conrads then a bunch more at the Airport on Sunday. I bet by then end of Dennis' OSU tenure, I will have her paint her house Scarlet & Gray like Salley's mom!
She started to cry when she saw Dennis' name and # in the program. When I took her down on the field after the game, she was a little sad and really wished Dennis' father was there. I told her he was.
I think what she got most out of the trip was the seriousness of the program and how important it is to get Dennis up to Columbus working with the team as quiclky as possible.
Meanwhile, Dennis went to Senior Day at Disney World. One of his last events in High School.
Thanks for thinking and asking about Dennis. He can't wait!
I haven't commented much about the Dennis Dennedy story, but like many of you, I have been following it from the beginning. Also like many of you, I've adopted him as one of my favorite Buckeyes before he has even arrived on campus. Regardless of what he ever accomplishes on the field, he is really something special.
Mrs. Kennedy, you have every right to be very proud of Dennis. But you need to know that we of the Buckeye Nation are very proud of you.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if DK made the biggest splash amongst the Fr RBs. It really appears that he is a person of character and has solid family involvement and good guidance. Unlike another OSU RB I could mention.....
