A man was arrested for alleged unruly behavior on an American Airlines flight causing it to divert to Baltimore on Thursday night, according to the airline and investigators.
Arthur Lundeen, 67, of Arizona, was restrained to his seat with duct tape and his hands were restrained with zip ties, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, which arrested him after the plane landed.
The incident took place on American Airlines flight AA 618, which took off from Dallas and was en route to Newark, according to the FBI and the airline.

As the Airbus A319 was en route to Florida, flight attendants alerted the cockpit crew to a disturbance involving a passenger in row 9.
According to Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) datalink logs published by aviation website AirLive, the lead flight attendant reported that a female passenger in seat 9D had completely undressed and engaged in indecent acts in view of nearby passengers.

Pretty spot on, honestly. I am an Air Force aviator turned Aviation Engineer, Planner, and Consultant. My company does work as Airline Tech Reps for major airports overseeing Baggage System upgrades, terminal expansions, ticketing modification, and Owner Reps/PM for Airlines (FBO, MRO, Club and Hangar builds).
Bias but most Floridian airports run super smooth, especially Tampa.

United Airlines is reportedly conducting an investigation into claims that a flight crew forced a 25-year-old woman back to her seat after she reported that the man seated next to her was masturbating while looking at her.
According to NBC News, which first reported the alleged incident and interviewed the woman, a pediatric crisis therapist, the Sept. 3 flight departed Rochester, New York, and was bound for Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey at around 6 a.m.
The woman, who was not identified because of safety concerns, described the man seated next to her as a “normal looking,” “unassuming,” guy between 35 and 40 years old who was wearing a T-shirt and hiking pants, the outlet reported.
She said she immediately left her seat and reported the alleged public masturbation to United flight crew members, who allowed her to stand for most of the flight.
It is unclear whether crew members approached the man about her claims or reported the alleged behavior to the pilot.
As the aircraft approached Newark, the woman told NBC that crew members said she needed to return to her seat for landing. When she told them she was not comfortable sitting next to the man, they reportedly said she had no choice because there were no other available seats.
“On multiple instances, I said I feel uncomfortable doing that,” she explained.

Crew members told her she would only have to be seated next to him for about five minutes during landing. However, because they were seated in the rear of the aircraft, it wound up being much longer as other passengers deplaned ahead of them, the woman alleged.
What happened next, according to the woman, was that the man she reported had openly been pleasuring himself while looking at her was not met by law enforcement or United staff at the gate and was simply allowed to walk away.
“What am I supposed to do about it,” she claims a United gate agent said when she complained.
NBC reported that she took her complaints to the airline and the Federal Aviation Administration and also contacted the FBI.
In emails reviewed by the outlet, a United representative reportedly wrote, “I can imagine how upsetting and uncomfortable it must have been to experience behavior from another passenger that caused you concern, particularly while seated in a location where you felt concerned.”
In her interview, the pediatric crisis therapist called the email’s language “blaming” and “offensive.”
“Additionally, framing public masturbation as ‘behavior that caused me concern’ implies that what occurred could somehow be perceived as acceptable,” she told NBC.
She also noted that airline passengers have been removed from flights for much less offensive behavior and that United gave her a $100 credit for the roughly $400 flight.
Asked for comment, United Airlines confirmed to People that the company is looking into the alleged incident. No additional details were provided.
