This game is the battle of who is better at controlling and focusing their anger.

1. Ohio State will hear nothing but shit for a month. You can't hang with them, Texas is number one, BIG XII SPEED, Mac is a better coach...etc
This will make your team pissed off.

2. Texas had their heart crapped on. They have one of the top QB's in the country and beat the team that will play for the National Championship. They've been place in a bowl with a team ranked 5+ poll spots lower than they are. They will be pissed.

FOCUS THE ANGER - PLAY FURIOUS!

Yes, back to the topic.

"Very same staduim" -- Wrong
"Triple overtime" -- Wrong

And I woudn't say we are quite the underdogs that the USA Hockey Team or Buster Douglas were. But I get your point. Yes, we sure are underdogs.

OK, I had a couple brain farts. But I'm glad you get the point....

I have every confidence that fool me thrice won't happen. Coach will have the men ready, and I think with TP at the helm, we have some firepower for texas.

Texas' defense aside from Orakpo is not the equiv. of Penn State imho.I think we can run the ball and push the pace, tire them out.

Bring it home men!

I Don't Care Anymore. Do You Remember 2002? Its always the same, its just a shame, that's all. If we can just Hang in Long Enough, contain McCoy and Don't Let Him Steal My Heart Away, it will be Another Day in Paradise. But until then We Wait and We Wonder

I don't get it. Must be some misunderstanding.

Am I the only one getting a 1997 Rose Bowl vibe from this matchup?
Not gonna lie, thats what I immediately thought of when the announcers of the BCS Selection Show said that if Texas wins and wins big they could vie for an AP National Championship as did USC in 2003, but that if we won, it would be similar to us blocking Arizona State from sharing a national title back in 1996-1997.

Eery similarities between the two games:

1996 Arizona State
Rank: #2
Record: 11-0
Reason for being left out of National Championship: Pac 10 and Big 10 had no agreement with the then Bowl Alliance, leaving the two conference champions to play in the Rose Bowl, and the Sun Devils out of New Orleans to play #1 Florida State.
Quarterback: Jake Plummer 179/313 2,575 yards 23 TD / 9 INT, 85 carries for 63 yards 3 TD, finalist for Davey O'Brien Award, Walter Camp Award, Unitas Award, and Heisman Trophy.
Opponent: #4 Ohio State (10-1) led by Butkus Award winner Andy Katzenmoyer and eventual Thorpe Award winner Antoine Winfield. The Buckeyes shared the Big Ten Championship with Northwestern.

2008 Texas
Rank: #3
Record: 11-1
Reason for being left out of National Championship: Big 12 conference has really [censored]ed up tie-breaker rules, leaving Texas out of their own conference championship to play #2 Florida.
Quarterback: Colt McCoy 291/357 3,445 yards 32 TD / 7 INT, 128 carries for 576 yards 10 TD, finalist for Davey O'Brien Award, Walter Camp Award, and Heisman Trophy.
Opponent: #10 Ohio State (10-2) led by 2006 Nagurski Award winner, 2007 Butkus Award winner and 2008 Bednarik Award finalist James Laurinaitis and Thorpe Award finalist Malcolm Jenkins. The Buckeyes shared the Big Ten Championship with Penn State.

Nice comparisons....

Do you remember how much Arizona State was favored by in the game? I would think 4 or 5 pts?

Another similarity would be that Cooper had the criticism of not being able to win the BIG game. Something Tress has heard a bit lately as well with the two NC losses.
