The NEW YORK TIMES
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots coach Bill Belichick, as skilled at making an opponent sound like the greatest team in history as he is at getting the Patriots to play like it, set the tone for the AFC championship game when he delivered a blistering accounting to his players of the San Diego Chargers' strengths.
He backed up his argument by passing out a sheet full of glowing statistics attesting to the Chargers' worthiness as the next team to try to end the Patriots' perfect season.

It will be strange to watch the AFC championship game between San Diego and New England and see Junior Seau and Rodney Harrison with a soldier on their helmets.
Seau almost symbolized the Chargers through a glorious 13-year run in which he made 12 straight Pro Bowls. Born in San Diego, he played in the San Diego high school championship for Oceanside in Qualcomm Stadium before heading to Southern California.
