AD overrated? In a Texas dream.

That boy is 100% legit. His run vs. Tulsa was nothing short of JIM BROWN power+speed+balance. Have you ever seen a run as sick as that one? He was possesed by a DEMON on that play. And aside from that, there's a reason why he is AD - ALL DAY. He can move the pile and he can blow it up.

Adrian Peterson is the best runningback in the country.

First, he didn't have permission to go to the camp, so the "reason" is invalid.

Second, Smith's scholarship pays for him to be a student the full year, not just during football season, thus he is just as responsible for going to class in February, June, etc., as he is in September, October, or November.

Exactly. The people chiding Stoops for not doing more than suspending him for practice I'm sure felt the same way about TS...you remember that, right? When everyone on here was talking about how the evil media was making a big deal out of that and that all it was was a missed class and EVERYONE misses classes in college?

The suspension in practice fits the violation, I wouldn't expect anything tougher from anyone

And how on earth can anyone think that Peterson and Maroney are overrated? They are dominant players with great numbers

I don't think it was the fact that Stoops isnt going to suspend him,

But the way he handled it. He suspened him for practices and then chose to open talk about it to the media, then went on to say he will play if we need him. Meaning they are losing.

newsflash: OU players don't lose PT for ugly situations off of the field. Dusty is welcomed back with open arms. The owner was really mad after the bar/restaurant fight, and called 911, but once Stoops got there his story/tone changed completely.

Got it in a nutshell there crazybuckfan40. Stoops came across as just plain waffling without a firm position. He may as well have been honest about it, or simply said that its an internal matter, or well anything but playing the cat-and-mouse word game in which he indulged.

all you forgot to say is, "even if that means only playing one RB against the #2 team in the country."

i may be in the minority here, but the running game was getting rolling late, and the fact that only Pittman got carries is pretty telling... fresh legs may have helped seal the deal...
