Yeah it was....I remember a game against the Ratbirds where he hit a 58 yarder right at the gun to send the game into OT....

Honestly I think he's right there in terms of top 5 kickers in the league. But he needs the exposure for everyone else to realize it.

Was that the same game he hit one through the uprights and it bounced off the stantion? (sp?)

100% agreed he's top 5. More exposure would help too...well good exposure like kicking game winners for a team that wins 8 or 9 games a year.

I sincerely hope this is true because this thread read like a gang of bullies beating the hell out of a kid way to young to defend himself. You guys changed the context of his post to make it read as if he were trying to stir up s**t when from an impartial perspective it looked like he was trying to change the subject to get out from under an embarrassing torrent of insults that he was clearly ill equipped to defend himself from. Not once did he take an offensive stance in 6 pages of abuse. Then he snaps and a moderator is quick to suspend him and join in with the hecklers congratulating themselves.

I don't read the forums enough to recall a single post or opinion that he has ever had. I assume however that they must have been very offensive to have received this kind of treatment. His posts in this thread however didn't come close to warranting this kind of behavior, at least in my humble opinion.

Just so it's clear...

On BP, arguing is fine as long as you're willing and able to defend your point-of-view. Making fun of somebody is even OK to a certain extent, as long as it is within the established boundaries. Because of that, sometimes thick skin is necessary if you are going to read or post - especially if your opinions or style are different from the prevailing attitudes here. It's not that those different opinions or styles are not welcome, but prepared to defend them or shrug it off if some heat comes your way.

As I explained to the poster in question when he received his temporary ban, it was a result of him not being able to do those things. The thread title ("Activate the Bat Signal - hatehineygate asks a simple question" - renamed by me) is a smartass one for sure, but the truth is, he did ask a simple question. The problem is, some people - myself included - tried to give a sincere response to his simple question, but he didn't care to engage those responses, only ones where he felt he was being slighted (in reality or perception)
