Basically tOSU reigns supreme! Technical note, I tried to add the infographic but am not talented enough to do so. I did not attend one of the four featured universities.

I knew the data at the time. Essentially, we undid open admissions in 83-85 (though it wasn't formalized by the board until 1987, which is the year that Celeste's trustees took the majority from Rhodes' appointees). We caught up to Fredo sometime around 1995 and had passed them by in 2003. They have closed the gap a bit the last few years, but that is because they are essentially devoting the majority of their financial aid to merit aid for out of state students--so much for serving the taxpayers of Ohio. As far as Ohio goes, they are utterly uncompetitive. Unless it's a child of Fredo alumni or somebody who fits the Fredo profile (Greek, white, business major) and really wants to be there, they don't stand a chance if we want that kid in Columbus. The middle 50% range for Ohio State's Honors Program is now 32-34, which is literally Ivy-Stanford-Chicago territory.

Something else to remember is that even during the darkest open admission days, we still attracted more high ability students than Fredo due to the engineering and science colleges. It was the bottom third of the class that dragged our class profile down. Once most of them were driven off after their freshman year, there was very little difference between the two student bodies. But because Rhodes and Millet forced us to take them in as freshmen, OSU had the open admissions perception while Fredo did not.
