"Acquired" a copy of Windows Vista

They have a LONG way to go...........if it gets released like this, you can forget running it. It runs like it is pulling a train. Sitting still, it is using anywhere from 850 meg to a gig of ram. All the fade effects and such as pretty, but kill your resources. With beta, I expect there to be problems with drivers, with this, and with that.........but it shouldnt run like complete ass

We've been trying to install Vista on a computer in our lab here and been having trouble with it. It will start to install, then reboot and continue installing, but then it just errors out. The message is pretty vague about not being able to install. It's the December CTP so maybe we need the new build. Another possible issue is that we are running SLI graphics cards, I'm not sure if the SLI could be throwing the installation. At one point in the installation it stops the output from the master card and sends it to the slave--which should never happen as far as I know. Any thoughts/suggestions would be great.

I am runnin SLI myself, so I dont think that's the problem. I do know the December build had some weird problem to do with RAM, but I cant honestly remember what it was. I did have a problem with that happening on one of the older builds, but found out it was a bad burn, had to reburn it and it worked.

Welp decided to try an install on my laptop today, and failed miserably. Just continuously crapped out here and there....(same copy I used on this machine). I am actually gonna go snag the 32 bit version and see if there are any differences in performance. I love MSDN

Damn, another delay.
Microsoft Corp. said on Tuesday it plans to delay the consumer launch of its much-anticipated Windows Vista operating system to January 2007 from its earlier target of the second half of 2006, sending its shares down nearly 3 percent.

Microsoft plans to launch a product for corporate customers in November and then roll out Windows Vista for consumers after the holiday shopping season, Jim Allchin, co-president of the company's Platforms & Services Division, said on a conference call.

Well with the way it is running right now, they may wanna delay it until about 2010. There isnt a PC in the world that wouldnt run like crap with Vista the way it is right now.
