You'll have a lot of fun. I lived in Florida, and transfered into Ohio St as well (but unfortunately, I didn't have enough money to stay for more than a year). It was the best year of my life so far. Intramurals are a blast, and I guarantee you that Saturdays in the fall is something you have never experienced and will remember for the rest of your life. I currently attend Univ of West Florida, and I am trying to do everything I can to go back to Ohio St for grad school (im a sports management major).

You pay $15 dollars a quarter, which gives you access to all the workout facilities, free concerts, and events on campus. It freaking huge, so while there are a bunch of people there, you can always find a pick up game to get into.

The RPAC fee alone is like $80 per quarter, but you have to pay it if you are a student no matter what. The student fees are $15 per quarter and gets you everything above (what Merih said) minus the workout facilities which are included in the $80.

Depending on when you go it can be VERY busy and wait a while to play games, but with so many courts you should be okay. I've only run into a few guys who were douche bags who thought they were on top of the world and called a foul for the slightest shit. You'll have a good time @ the RPAC.

Intramurals are excellent, there is no shortage of pick up bball games at anytime anywhere, indoors if it's cold, outdoors at any of the Jesse Owens.
Bar scene is great, dozens and dozens of off campus bars plus Short North and Arena District are popular areas for over 21 goers.
You will shit your pants at the atmosphere on gamedays.
