All the employees I talked to claim they're actually serious about it this year. That is why they are now allowing you to "upgrade" the ticket to general admission for $30. If you really want to try, just go about a half hour before kickoff when traffic is busiest at the student gates. They may not even bother when faced with huge crowds.

I really don't think it is going to be possible. Think about how crowded the gates get before kickoff. Do you think they could possibly argue with someone if they are like.....ahh man I forgot My ID and a crowd of 100 people are behind you in line trying to get in. All hell will break loose if people start feeling like they might miss part of the game

The student tickets for Cinci and Marshall say student ID required. Not that those words neccessarily mean anything - good luck.
Nah, every student ticket I've ever used has that printed on them, and I have never once been asked. Haven't tried student tickets since 02, however, but I had a student season ticket with a name something like "Naferti Abdullequella", and they never even asked.

As an usher I can tell you that there is little to no chance that you will be able to get in without your student ID this year. The changes that they made is going to force you to pay the extra money or be disapointed. Now you can use another student's id but you have to transfer the tickets to them.

It is a shame that it has to be this way, but they finally have a system in place that they have talked about for years.

I think they are serious this year and heard they will be scanning both the ticket and BuckIDs.

Here's the new policy anouncement.

http://ohiostatebuckeyes.collegesports.com/facilities/ohiostadium-policies.html

According to the anouncement, the policy will be expanded to faculty/staff tix next year. If they actually start doing this I'm guessing scalper prices might increase. I already sold my UC tickets to a ticketbroker for quite a bit more than I expected.
