I would find it interesting to know how many of you people who dislike tOSU vs. scUM rematch possiblity this year, also favor a playoff, because this is far more likely in any playoff scenario than it is in the BCS system...

I still think we will see that most people who favor a playoff have not thought it through thoroughly enough and I will be quite amused by who the loudest anti-rematch voices are and if in their next breath they scream for a playoff...

im 100% against a rematch of a team you play in the regular season facing you again in the title game. if we beat scum, they don't have the right to play in the nc game. *shrug* i said the same thing last year about tOSU before we lost to penn state. how can we say scum deserves a rematch without saying texas does as well? they at the very least have gotten better since we played them. which will be an arguement that scum might be able to make. but certainly won't be able to prove.

oh and some of these "we're unbeateable" posts im seeing... have to admit, it sounds a whole lot like the 02 season only in a bad way. hell, we even have a "can the bucks beat a pro team" thread. makes me wonder if bp has had a significant influx of new users this season. expecially after usc dropped one.

theres a reason they play the games people...

I think that the only way you see a re-match is if all of the 1-loss SEC teams each lose again, West Virginia, Louisville, and Rutgers each get a loss, USC loses another game, and then beats Notre Dame, and (here's the part I don't like) Michigan wins on November 18. The loser of that game will drop. It may not be fair, but the timing of a team's loss is almost more important than to whom that team lost. Ohio State may only drop to #2 if they lose to Michigan. But if Ohio State wins, Michigan will drop to #3 or worse. That's why I don't want to see a re-match.

That's my guess, anyway.

My 2 cents; if Michigan out played us, at the shoe, and lost in a close game I think they may be given another shot.

I got only one question for you: When was the last time OSU was given "another shot" after they lost to Michigan?

What has made the Ohio State Michigan rivalry the biggest rivalry in college football is that it doesn't matter what your record is coming into this game, you lose, you go home. Period. Never has either side said anything in the nature of "oh we played them well enough that we think we are entitled to a rematch this season". And if any player from either side come out and says it after this year's game, well, they just don't get "it".
