A Night in the GA Dome

RugbyBuck

Our church has no bells.
Sometimes the good guys lose, but last night in an ocean of electric blue and orange, I was proud to be a Buckeye. I got the chance to go at the last minute and was glad I did. I'd go and lose 100 times rather than be a Florida Gator.

Our guys played hard and well and they are Buckeyes. Our fans were supportive and respectful and they are Buckeyes. We'll win more national championships in basketball and football, but we don't have to be Gators (meant to be read with a slurred, redneck accent) in order to do it.

To paraphrase Churchill: They may have won last night, but this morning we're Buckeyes and they're still wearing flourescent garbage and doing that idiotic alligator chomp.

Go Bucks and Michigan still sucks.

Just out of curiousity (for future reference)-did you buy your tix from a scalper? Were there many available?

I was tossing the idea around in my head but didn't really know what the ticket situation would be like.

I bought tickets from a UCLA fan for $500 and my gf and I drove down yesterday morning. Got back to CBus about 6:30.

We had a great time, even in defeat. The stadium was roughly 75-25% Gators, and many of them were very, very, obnoxious, although the folks directly beside and behind us were very nice.....for Gators. :)

There were scalpers everywhere, but I'm not sure how much tickets were going for since we already had tickets. I heard rumor of tickets similar to ours going for $1200 each, but I can't confirm.

The atmosphere was nice, but IMO didn't compare at all to this year's edition of The Game. I was shocked at the lack of merchandise.....

So, I spent about $650 for two lower level tickets and a night at the downtown Sheraton Atlanta to see the Bucks battle for a National Championship.....Pretty cheap life long memory, and extremely cheap compared to the price of the football MNC.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us Rugby, what a great time it must have been. My cuzz down in Greenville, SC called me right after the game last night from the parking lot of the Georgia Dome. I didn't even know he had gone, scored some tics from work-folk. He's a true Buckeye stuck down in SC, and had a great time also, but wasn't looking forward to the 3 hour (probably turned 5 hour) drive home to basically get no sleep and be to work at 6:00am. Aw, the things that Buckeye fans do.
