I can't believe I never saw this posted before today. Did you work on this between graduation and employment?:popcorn:

On the downside, we'll never see "back to back" champions this way. But, on the upside, in the words of the immortal Ric Flair: "To be the man, you gotta BEAT the man." As idiotic as it seems, and as I'm sure it was intended, I LIKE it!

I always thought that if we had not beat Miami. that they could have very well had a good chance to break Oklahoma's record of 47 wins - which now
i don't think that a record like that will ever be broken. I think that ended in 1957 against Notre Dame.

Agreed. But conferences work because real National Championships are NOT determined this way. If National Championships were determined this way, I think there'd be more out-of-conference "big" matchups.
