A new way to crown the National Champion

The last 5 are ACC or Big East.

I guess it is a good thing in other sports that this method is used you have to earn your title shot.

Like pro boxing and pro wrestling? :wink2:

I can't believe I never saw this posted before today. Did you work on this between graduation and employment?

On the downside, we'll never see "back to back" champions this way. But, on the upside, in the words of the immortal Ric Flair: "To be the man, you gotta BEAT the man." As idiotic as it seems, and as I'm sure it was intended, I LIKE it!

Peace Cleve!

Wow look how long Miami FL had it before we took it away in the Fiesta Bowl. This is kind of cool to look at!

I always thought that if we had not beat Miami. that they could have very well had a good chance to break Oklahoma's record of 47 wins - which now
i don't think that a record like that will ever be broken. I think that ended in 1957 against Notre Dame.

What if, instead of crowning a national champion every year, we determine the current champion of college football by a title that is passed on from team to team. When you beat the current title holder, you become the title holder.

The first champion was the winner of the first game ever, Rutgers over Princeton, 6-4.

11/16/2012 Baylor

11/23/2013 Oklahoma State
12/7/2013 Oklahoma
10/4/2014 TCU
10/11/2014 Baylor
10/18/2014 West Virginia
11/1/2014 TCU

Someone double-check to make sure I got that right.

So this is like a WWE Championship-esque thing? Interesting. Does the title change hands by count out or disqualification? :tongue2:

Uhh, Duh!

"This match is scheduled for one fall!"

:tongue2:

"With a 60 minute time limit"

With an all WWE Diva Show at Halftime....

And Vince McMahon determining who wins!!!!

Interesting but the lack of OOC matchups kinda undermines the idea. You can see how it bounces around within 1 conference for awhile b/c of that.

Agreed. But conferences work because real National Championships are NOT determined this way. If National Championships were determined this way, I think there'd be more out-of-conference "big" matchups.
