A Few Post-Game Thougthts....

I did not log on last night either. It had been 19 games since I had to feel this feeling and was not sure just what I felt. My initial thoughts were that we simply got out coached and I still feel that way.

Troy had no time to even allow a route to develope on most plays. Credit to Florida, they kept their blitzes mixed up and our o line confused. Same with their offense. They came out of so many looks that our defense spent most of the game thinking instead of reacting.

I won't hash out the whole game, b/c people on here that know the game better than me have done that. Let me just say this...as I was driving home I was listening to the post game interviews. When asked how this loss felt, Troy summed it up. He said that our guys prepared hard and that Florida just executed (to near perfection) and great game plan. He said that the seniors and the people in Ohio have many other good memories to hang onto from this year. He went on to say that in life, there are so many worse things that could happen than losing a football game.

I thought to myself...if a guy who has spent so much blood, sweat, and time preparing for this can accept this loss without asking why, then so can I.

i had absolutely no confidence that our defense could keep florida from scoring, especially considering that we would have likely given them more great starting field position. i didn't disagree with the decision, but i did disagree with the play call. there was no doubt who was getting the ball and where he was going. if florida's right end could have been sealed or merely slowed, the first down was probably there.

Having watched a lot of SEC football and being a Georgia Bulldog fan I was surprised at the soft (very soft) and deep zone that Ohio played all night. Surely they could cover the gator receivers better than they did. Is that the way Ohio has played all year? Do they do much man coverage? Are the offensive tackles as slow as they looked? They seemed like they had their feet in cement last night. I never saw Ohio use a tight end to block. Is that something they have used in the past? Like I said, I watch a lot of SEC football but have not seen OSU play much this year. I only saw part of the Ohio-Michigan game so I just wonder if that is their normal style of play.

I thought the QB sneak call on 3rd down was the worse call.

I still like the call too. In the few carries Wells was in he ran people over... on that play it seem like he was running and waiting to get hit instead of hitting the hole with force to move the Gators Dline back.

I was amazed that the refs didn't even measure that ball on 4th.

The 4th and 1 call is being blown out of proportion, not here so much as from the talking heads on the boob tube. That play resulted in 3 points, the killer (as it was the entire game) were UF's lineman running down Smith all night. How 350lb guys run down one of the fastest guys on our team is beyond me.

Eh, I'll disagree on the call but I definitely understand JT's thinking...just dont like it.

sure it only resulted in 3 points points but it also gave the Gator Defense more confidence than they already had.
