A dingleberry that just won't go away....

seems quite a few people think we are not able to handle the elite teams. I only point this out because I made a post about our play calling and I was slammed pretty good for that, as I feel we have the talent in place now, but our play calling is way too predictable and we need to start passing more on 1st and 2nd downs to open it up for Beanie. Get Hartline and Robiskie back into the game on 1st and 2nd downs. Beanie is not going to break those runs against a USC type team - they know how to tackle better then a Northwestern.
aside from that -
I have watched Alabama play in quite a few games this year and I really think we could handle them. I personally believe they are over rated and despite what people say about the SEC, there only good win was against Georgia and Georgia did not play a great game.
I would like to play them because they are on everyone's love list this year so after we beat them, we would get a lot more respect then beating say LSU.
I would be scared of Texas Tech and Florida, I think they are the two best teams in the country. As for those who do not want to play a SEC team this year, no way. This would be the year to play them. Aside from Florida and Alabama(which you know my thoughts on them), the SEC is not that good this year. Take a look at LSU - they are afraid to throw the ball at any critical point because Lee throws so many picks - 7 returned for td's.
Georgia is a team that can be real good one game and so so the next, and I think we match up well against them.
Who else do they have - South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, - SEC is WAYYYYYY over rated this year. Conference that is the deepest would be the Big 12.

I notice in the ESPN Bowl Projections they have us playing Texas in the Fiesta.

No, you made a douchebag post about playcalling that had no substance whatsoever. If you wanted to talk actual Xs and Os then people might not have slammed you.

Have an opinion? Great. Now back it up with something that people actually want to read and discuss.

Want to vent? Great. Present your complaint in a civil manner and try to have a solution to go along with it.

Want to bash? Get the fuck out.

I'm not quite sure where I was not civil? Could you point that out for me please, especially as you are so civil.

I said our offense is so predictable I could be a defenisive coordinator agsint it. You asked for specifics - in that post I pointed out the quotes the USC players made - how we were so predictable.

It is okay to not feel good about playing a top 5 team, but it is not ok to think if we had a more imaginative offense that we could beat the top 5 teams?
I am not sure I understand the reasoning here.
So, to be civil as you have been so gracious to me, I apologize for wanting the scarlet and gray to have a more imaginative offense and to pass more on 1st and 2nd downs.
I apologize for believeing we have the talent we need to beat Florida if we were not so predictable and I am really sorry that I pointed out the USC players said our offense did not do anything unexpected.

Is that civil enough?
Maybe not as I did not name call, like using dingleberry and saying I made a douchebag post etc......
but I am not the civil one.........

Beanie vs. LSU?

That was a hell of a defense. He can (and has) run on anyone. Herron ran for 51 on USC with only 11 carries. That's 4.6 ypc. As much as I like Herron, he's no Beanie. I can't help but think Beanie would have averaged 5+ ypc against them.

fw_buckeye - I agree, don't get me wrong. Beanie is the best power back in college football, he will be playing on Sundays. I was just thinking of the two plays where he bounced out of a herd of northwestern players and took off for great yardage when they had him trapped behind the line of scrimmage.
I just don;t see that happening against USC type teams. He will always have his great runs, but I can see more breaking it through the line type runs.
Beanie is my screen background - wish he were healthy all year as I really wanted him to be in the race for the Heisman,
