This site mirrors the growth I have seen of the internet. It's fluid and subject to change like the people who use it.
I have come to appreciate those who can use Buckeye Planet and maintain their humanity. Their love for people and not just "things".

Nov. 2004 but I was hanging around in 02 or 03?

July 22, 2003. I watched it curiously from day one though after Clarity and Mili left Bucknuts.

I stopped visiting here so much though around June 29, 2004, after which things seemed to go a little downhill.

And now I feel really old. Great.

It has been a fun time to watch college football change though, and I especially like watching young whippersnappers talk about which programs are elite now, as their vision often has neither sufficient foresight nor hindsight. I also miss Iowa fans fervently believing that the Big Ten had a Big Three with Iowa as a member, after a good year or two, and us trying to explain to them the importance of time. . .

June 29, 2004 here, but I lurked quite awhile once I figured out why all the good people seemed to be disappearing from Bucknuts. So glad you weren't all in a mass grave somewhere in the Ohio hinterlands.

April 6th, 2004 for me. It's been a long time, but I'm pretty sure I jumped into BP full go after I found out where all the good posters from Bucknuts were going. I even hung out with Turd Ferguson once so I might be lucky that I didn't end up in a mass grave. I don't think it took long for me to completely forget about Bucknuts.

Things have changed greatly over the past 10+ years. Back then I could have told you everything about the upcoming recruiting class, but now I don't find out anything until the new guys step on the field. I wish I could do more around here (not like JoePed), but with a wife and kids life gets in the way. I spend more time on Spy now than anyplace else. Still proudly wear my BP shirt's more often than not on gameday.

:oh:

I think I went through the same thing as far as recruiting. Lots of BPers were 20 somethings in the beginning, I think many of us are where you are.
Add me to this list. I still pay attention but not nearly as much as I used to.

Additionally, Urban Meyer's vs. Tressel's recruiting style combined with the emergence of social media completely changed the game and left a lot of us old people behind.

Edit: mixed with starting to feel like this at a certain point

I had never even lurked on any type of message board before BP. Didn't even know they existed to be real. Living in Georgia, my only Buckeye news lifeline was my cousin, @Spielman36. He'd email me all kinds of pics from here. Every time I asked where he found it, it was BP. Finally joined, lurked for a month or so, and realized you sonsabitches were my kind of crazy.

I was 25 years old. No woman, no kids, just living the dream. Now I'm 35 with a bum knee and a daughter.

Thank Woody for Clarity and Longwood.
