I still think our offense is square peg and round hole, and just don't see it getting much better....more experience for TP and all. He just isn't a pro-style QB. The Troy comparisons are fine(in reagrds to career development), but Troy had more tools as a pocket QB and QB overall. I really hope they get Terrelle more help in the offensive system and designed plays for next year. It's obvious Terrelle hates contact, and it limits what the staff can do, but for every 30 yard gain Terrelle picks up on the option, 9 other plays are strung out runs where he had 5-6 yards inside, a bad pitch, or fumble. I still think if the staff is smart, they take a page out of Urban Meyers playbook, and take decesion-making away from the QB. For all the accolades Tebow gets at UF, think about how many offensive plays are set-up for him where all he has to do is execute....fake the hand-off to Demps coming across, find the TE on a backside cross....it's just so simplified, and there is nothing wrong with that. I don't even understand why you want a 6'6 physical freak like Pryor sitting in the pocket anyways....its just a waste of his skills.

I hear what you're saying, and I agree. It's hard to see TP ever developing into an NFL pro style QB. But how do you run TP in a UF type offense? Tebow loves contact. The dude fears no one when he runs. TP has a completely different mindset.

I guess the question is...where does the offense go from here? Something has to give. I just don't know.

By WHO'S MOTHER[censored]ING CRITERIA?!

Five out of nine B10 titles, a MNC, 7-1 against TSUN...you spoiled [censored].

Past performance does not excuse the dismal performance today. And all too many people want to lay the blame squarely on Pryor. I call BS. The coaches are paid to perform and should be held accountable when things go wrong, not the players.

Valid point...I think the point I'm making beyond a comparison between offenses, is UF's staff utilizing Tebow's best assets. I'm not saying tOSU should run UF's offense, but the UF staff has taken a lot of decesion making out of Tebow's hands..which is smart...Tebow isn't a pocket QB. They use players around Tebow to put defenses in compromised positions, and let Tebow execute the play. They aren't asking him to make reads 75% of the time. I love how they utilize Hernandez in that system, and 90% of the time Hernandez catches the ball, it's a play designed specifically for him.

I'm not in-line with all of the Troy comparisons and development for a variety of reasons...Troy's mechanics were far superior to Terrelle's and thats saying a lot b/c Troy's mechanics weren't great either. But Troy had a stronger arm, IMO, was a more natural QB in terms of reading defenses.....maybe just a more football savvy player. Not to knock Terrelle too bad, but I really haven't seen many QB's throw a worse screen pass...between the Chris Wells screen catch against Texas last year, where the ball took 13 seconds to land b/c Terrelle threw it 12 feet in the air, and some flares he's thrown the last few weeks....I'm just not sure what the answer is. I just know I'd like to see more read-option, more moving the pocket with Terrelle being encouraged to run if its there, and more utilization of our explosive players to keep defenses honest.

I'm really disappointed we haven't seen more Flash motioned into the backfield, or putting Ray Small in motion and taking a handoff from Terrelle as he streaks across the backfield. Fake that play, and let Ballard realease to the backside......just anything...I'm grasping for anything.

So you demand perfection? Good thing JT doesn't come to your job and knock the broom out of your hand.

One positive to take away from this... the team did not quit, they kept battling and fought back to nearly have a chance to try and tie it until the facemask penalty at the end. And it was Pryor who led the comeback attempt... just something to build off of I guess.

That's EXACTLY what you take from a shit game like this. This is what builds character for your ensuing title run. 7-5 in 2001 was just what the '02 team needed to know they could rely on each other not to give up when shit got tight. Adversity builds character...men aren't born with it. When everything is easy...2006.

I'd say they quit for a couple possessions in the 3rd quarter.

It was amazing to see how the receivers were running such terrible/wrong routes. Line completely let guys come in free. And Pryor didn't look like he wanted to play. Just my observations.

They looked fine the final 12 minutes (after getting down 16), but the 2nd half was pretty bad on O overall.

D seems to always bring it, given the circumstances (TOP, turnovers).

But yeah, there is some momentum, which is better than none. :)

Whoa, turbo. Did I demand perfection or even remotely suggest JT should be fired? No - only that he and the rest of the coaching staff should be held accountable. I'm sick and tired of people leveling both barrels at Pryor.

So players should only be celebrated when things go good? I'm missing what you are saying.

Coaching is a tough business. I thing I have learned is coaches really don't have as much influence on the skill of a player when things go right....They also do not have that much influence when things go bad.

You want to win National Title...A high school championship...a baseball title....You better have some fucking thoroughbreds as players! Can't win a title with mules!!!!

Time to stop picking on TP. The kid had a terrible game, yes, but it's not like anybody else (and that includes the D) stepped up to help him out. The O-line was terrible, the running game was terrible, the play calling was especially terrible (1st and goal from inside the 5 and once again JT settles for a FG), and our much vaunted D wasn't exactly "lights out". Does that make it all TP's fault? Hardly. Enough of bashing one man for all of our extensive woes. The Buckeye Nation should be supporting the players and demanding more from the coaches, plain and simple.
:oh:

The running game was not horrible. I'm sorry but I have to disagree there. What pissed me off the most is the fact the team went away from the run. Even when they were down by 11 they should have still been trying to run the ball instead of leaving it up to TP to throw the ball.
