When you get dominated that much inside, it's time to stop blaming the refs.

What was our weakness coming into the game? We all knew it. So did Tennessee. They took advantage of it.

Seriously people, stop blaming the refs. You're all above it.

It's not hard to understand the concept that refs can affect the play on the floor, and if they get too involved early it can throw off a team's gameplan or rhythm. The refs didn't lose the game for OSU, but they were a negative factor in a close loss. Ultimately it's on the poor shooting and lack of aggression on both boards, but it's not like the refs aren't out there having an impact: they almost always are and do.

All that said, this was a great season, and it only hurts right now because it's finally over. I will never complain when we win the Big Ten and make the Sweet Sixteen, and I look forward to even greater things from Matta's teams in the future.

I go back and forth on Matta's strategy of not using the bench. Obviously, things weren't going well down the stretch. Simmons played well in the first. Why not get him back out there? But again, that's the strategy that got them this far. Turner knocks down that last three or Diebs doesn't get called for a foul on that steal and we're all saying how they grinded out a tough one. I just don't buy "lack of effort" explanations. They played hard and got beat on all game by a very physical team and they weren't able to return the favor. Blame the refs or the difference in team styles or coaching strategies, whatever... bottom line it came down to one shot and we missed it. They've been a fun team to watch all year and a very enjoyable group. I hope they're all back next year. :oh::io:

I really think we would have won the game if we had him, not a bash on our centers at all they are fine players, but he would have scored more than both of them combined and would have cleaned up the rebound mess, he would have improved from last year.

Mullens was a perfect example of "Size isnt everything"

I doubt he would have made a major difference in this game

And hey you can't win a National Championship every year, reason we lost was because they were just flat out bigger than us. Once again ET played great. But we need to recruit someone around 6-10 - 7ft again. BJ Mullens we really could have used ya.

That and they have not been able to defend a big man in the paint all season. Tenn took advantage of that. Just get some pallate clenser and wipe the taste from your mouth. Hey only six more months until FOOTBALL!!!! OH YEAH GO BUCKS!!! :osu::oh::osu:

I think he would have helped height wise on Jizzm. I doubt he would have contributed offensively, but that isn't what we needed. We didn't get many run outs at all, because they were finishing inside so well.

Well, sh*t....

It wasn't the officiating, there were calls that went both ways and Thad didn't get outcoached. Lighty and Diebler had bad nights and we just couldn't afford both of them having a bad night. UT was a quality opponent that did a great job hustling to every loose ball and really crashed the boards hard. UT showed up tonight, and to that end tOSU did too, but Diebler's and Lighty's shot did not. I feel bad for both, they just had off nights; it happens.

It is times like this that I hate living in TN.....yet you can bet your ass that I will be sporting my tOSU hat tomorrow......it will be an equally good bet that some toothless f*cktard will make some comment tomorrow, likely about SEC dominance or speed or something to that effect.

I feel your pain. :( I hate living here on a night like this. I wanna go back to OHIO!!!!

It's not hard to understand that concept. I agree with it. I said the refs sucked soon after the game ended.

But they aren't the reason we lost. People are acting like the only weakness we had were the refs, and that was simply not the case. Buncha sore losers and it makes me sick. Be proud and don't make excuses. Making excuses, especially the one about the refs, is a lot of things. None of these things are good.

'grats on the season, Buckeyes. This thread is almost pissing me off more than the game did, so I'm done with it.

Well said... it was a fun season to watch that exceeded my expectations, especially when they won 13 of their last 14 Big Ten games to clinch a share of the regular season title and put together a nice 3-day run to win the Big Ten tournament. This team had a good chemistry and were just missing a big man that could give them 8-10 points each game. Another great coaching job by Matta and his staff... here's to another great year next year!

Anyone else feel like they need talked off the ledge?

I'm moving throught the stages of grief rather quickly. I'm in the sad/depressed stage now. The anger/attempting to let my wife allow me to drive to st louis to "talk" to the officials took all my energy.

5 beers and a major headache later...*sigh*

More than anything, I'm just bummed that we don't get to watch these guys again this season.

Go Bucks.
