THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. ? In case the omnipresence of Greg Oden had caused anyone to go to sleep on the players around him, yesterday was a wake-up call.
Paying scant attention to the rest of the Ohio State men?s basketball team can be perilous, as Illinois learned in suffering its worst loss in Assembly Hall in 31 years. Jamar Butler and Ron Lewis made four of Ohio State?s five three-point baskets in a searing seven-minute run in the first half that carried the Buckeyes to a 62-44 victory.

Buckeyes kick offense to the outside

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. One thought drove Illinois Head Coach Bruce Weber?s planning for the Illini?s game against No. 6 Ohio State on Saturday.
If his team could contain 7-foot freshman center Greg Oden, it might pull off an upset. Oden didn?t score a point until the second half Saturday, but the Buckeyes? guards took up the slack with three scoring in double figures as Ohio State beat the Illini, 62-44, handing Illinois its worst home loss since 1976.

CHAMPAIGN - Whether it results from a lack of effort, practice time, confidence, leadership or playmakers, the huge gap between Illinois and the top teams in the Big Ten Conference was unmistakable Saturday at Assembly Hall.

Nice win yesterday. Don't have any observations, b/c I didnt actually see the game, but a beat down of Illinois in champaign even if they are having a down year is always impressive.

Now lets hope that they are ready for an even tougher environment on Tuesday and hope they can pull out a win in the kohl center.

A very nice win for us. The defense looked better.
I was concerned about our shooting percentage it was'nt very good.
Conley does need to improve his outside shot. I am sure he will.
I love it when they can throw that great big ball into the small orange thing with the fishnets on it.

Excellent analysis. Amazing how that great big thing even fits through that small thing.

I thought our three-point shooting was very good compared to the way we had been shooting.

Once he does that he will almost be unstoppable. He is so impressive with his ballhandling.
