I share the concerns of fatigue and all playing this tournament but judging from Thad and ET's reaction the team thinks this is important, so that's good enough for me. :)

Matta was asked about this in January and his response was that everyone was expected to be in good enough shape to play 40 minutes every game if necessary. He knows his team better than I do so I'm not about to argue with his thought process.

again, i'm not at all saying that i didn't want osu to win, but i did see the silver lining to losing day. the conference tournament runs a very distant second to the national tournament, and these games are very taxing to a team that has virtually no bench.

as i stated before, i pray that we get a friday game... at night.

40 minutes once every 3, 4, or 5 days is one thing. 40 minutes 5 times in 9 days is something altogether different. this team is evidently more fit than those in seasons past, but the team is now playing with fire.

great game! I was 3 for 3 in my v bets, I just didn't bet enough!!

It's just plain weird how many swings these games take. 12-0 run by Illi, then 17 - 0 by the bucks (or something like that). Then to be up 59-50 and end up in overtime.....

Like someone else said, I was resigned to losing and getting a week to rest up, but... I guess that would be too much time. So let's win this thing and then get a few days' rest.

really impressed with Madsen today. And Dallas, if he gets a game without Hightower, he should just go at it hard and not worry about the refs. Not that he wants to come out of the game, but if he gets few fouls, Madsen is playing the last couple weeks of his college career and playing like a mad man....

Go Bucks!

You're right, Madsen has been playing really hard out there. He's been a great addition to the team this year.

Can't say enough about Lighty. The guy just plays his role so well. He just knows when he needs to step up and seems to come up with so many big plays defensively.

My only negative today is that there were several spurts during the game when our guys just seemed to lack fire and with that they really weren't sharp. They almost seem to relax and get lazy at times with ball handling and passing. But they always seem to kick it into the gear just in time. Let's hope that extra gear kicks in earlier once the NCAAs start! I'm also concerned about fatigue for these guys that play so many minutes. Jump shooters need their legs and at times Turner and Buford really looked to have struggled with their 3 balls looking flat.

Great win by the good guys today...clutch down the stretch...feeling like they're ready for tournament time!

As I said in the regular season, the key to a long tournament run is a consistent impact from David Lighty.

He struggled today (but he made a HELL of a shot) and not surprisingly Ohio State struggled.

I think it's not just Lighty, but also Diebs...when Diebs is hitting from 3 land and Evan AND Lighty are slashing inside...this team is really good! :osu:

to tack on to my previous posts, isn't this finals week coming up?

Yes, I believe it's finals week this week.

And at the end of the first overtime all I was hoping for was no injuries (knock on wood that this continues) and for the game to end (with the Buckeyes winning). Lots of tired legs I imagine.

Seriously though, since Evan Turner made that last-second shot against Michigan Friday, everything else is just gravy.
