#4 Ohio State 63, Michigan State 54 (Final)

I disagree. I think we would win as many games with Butler playing the point instead of Conley so Oden would be my MVP. I am not saying that Butler is a better point guard that Conley but going back to last year I think you would be very close. I don't know which games we would have lost this year with Butler on the point.

I don't see how you can say that Most Improved Player would be between Conley and Hunter when neither one of them played for Ohio State last year so you are comparing apples to oranges. I think the Most Improved player from the beginning of the season to this point would be Hunter. Until Conley develops a consistent outside shut I don't think he has improved that much since the beginning of the year. He would be much more valuable to this team if you were a better shooter from the outside.

Please remember that I am not saying Conley is a bad point guard but on this team I think he is replaceable. I know most of you would disagree but so be it:)

While Butler was a very good PG the ability to put 2 pgs on the floor at the same time has opened up so much for this offense. Without Conley we would be forcing a lot more shots as he gets into the lane and with the shooters we have he is able to find them...

I do agree that oden is irreplaceable and for that reason is our MVP, but take Conley off the team and I think we would not be near as good as we are now...

As for the most improved, we are talking about from the beginning of the season to now...

Conley is almost becoming the leader of this team and at the beginning of the season that he was not, as he seemed to just kinda get lost in the game and pick his spots every once in a while, now he is becomming the quarterback out there and taking charge.

As for Hunter he took time adjusting to the D-I game and it starting to prove his worth on the floor...

I'd go with Hunter.

I don't think anyone truly knew what OSU would get from Hunter, but he's really started playing well here in the past month or so....
I agree that Hunter is the most improved since the start of the season. Some more weight would help him too.

did anyone mention how many sets izzos boys ran? it had to be right around 50 diff sets during that game. ive recognized 17 diff ones from mattas teams all year.

on the mvp issue, the big difference to me this year is nearly every player has improved throughout the year, with maybe ron lewis as the exception. thats what is interesting to me, i have seen no one digress this year. which may sound silly but i believe it.

look at harris, hes having that sr ephiphany, butler has begun to assert himself and fall into the flow of what now is becoming his new/old roles mixed. oden is oden, but at the same time is really progressing. conley has shown a lot more maturity of late to his already smart bball iq game. cook could be knocked for the lack of his offensive production of late, but what i see is a guy who is really buckling down on the defensive end, lighty has asserted himself with a few timely baskets and stepping into the role of a stopper. throw in hunter who is night and day different than he was in nov. twig has seen mins and production increase, but at the same time the last few weeks has not only helped steal minutes, but imo spark plugged a 13 to 4 run why oden was off the floor just last week. it goes on and on. this team is starting to click. the defense is starting to come around and i am begining to see defensive consistency, rebounding is really starting to be a team thing, with 3 or 4 guys on the floor working postioning and the boards hard.

i am to the point where i am exicted to see where the next month or so goes. and ask anyone who has been around here long, i dont get too excited...

I agree with everything said...

March should be very exciting...

I would take a 1 or a 2 seed with our first 2 games at nationwide and then go from there...

Would rather have a 2 seed, just so we don't have the pressure of a 1 seed on our back, but a 2 seed didnt help us much last year. For pressure reasons I would like to have a 3 seed, but I don't envision us losing any of our last games, and in the big ten tourney, I would say we will at least win one or two games, and there I wouldnt think that only having 4 loses to the teams we would have them to would allow us to have a 3 seed.

Speaking of which, don't you hate those grocery store "savings cards"? I wish they'd just give the lower price without requiring a card. But I regress...
so this is a grammar class now?

1.to deviate or wander away from the main topic or purpose in speaking or writing; depart from the principal line of plot, study, etc.

may not be the best word choice, but if you ask me still fits. but i never was some english major?

Well, I think we're both digressing at this point, but no, it's not a grammar class - I was just having a little fun with a blatant word misuse. And for what it's worth, I'm sure I've incorrectly satiated words before as well.

I made it up, and in so doing, unfairly maligned Daequan. To the best of my knowledge, he has never digressed.
