i'm not going to call it good news. i'd rather see ohio state play a full-strength florida, and i bet our players do, too. i don't want to read any excuses for a gator loss. this game is meant to be the best that they have facing the best that we have.

I always want to beat full strentgh teams too. However down the road a cpl years no one will remember that someone didn't play.
In that sense, bring them on with who they have and let's kick some derierre.

of course, whoever florida suits up is whose butts should be kicked. that much is clear. i don't agree, though, that no one will remember that the leading scorer (however barely) didn't play in a heated contest.

Oden's far from full-strength...

i understand that. again, if horford doesn't play, i won't consider his absence to be good news. perhaps it's just me, but i'd rather face my opponent when he is at his best or at least fully capable of being his best. i bet that matta and company feel the same way.

I'm certainly all for the Buckeyes winning this game in Florida. It would make quite a statement and keep the train going strong. But in basketball, there are always chances for rematches. I'm almost glad that the Bucks played really well against UNC, but lost. They will be hungrier in the rematch. Bucks should be favored to beat UNC in the tourney, should they meet. Hard to beat a really good team twice. Same with this game and Florida. We beat them now, I will be a little more leary when (if) we play them in March. No real point, just rambling. I still root for a victory in every game. As long as we play well, I'll be content with the outcome of this game whether it is a W or an L.

Case in point...The 91-92 Buckeyes were the best team in the country. No one will convince me otherwise. However, it is very hard to beat a good team twice, let alone THREE times! That draw was horrible, having to beat the Fab Five for the third time in the season to make it to the Final Four. Going in, I knew they had very little chance of winning. Somebody else knocks off Michigan that year, and we would have been champs. I don't doubt it at all.
