360 "Red Ring of Death?" Don't sweat it, it's on Microsoft!

They did not ask me for a receipt regarding mine. I think as long as you have a legitimate serial number (they ask for it a couple of times) then you will be ok.

I know it was an extended 3 year warranty, so you are in the clear until sometime in 2009.

I just got my box shipped to me today, so I can finally ship it off tomorrow.

Do you know what the current policy is regarding replacement due to the RRoD? I'm sure I don't have my receipt anymore so if my 360 crashes tomorrow do you think I have a good chance of getting a third one for free?
Your replacement 360 is covered for up to 3 years from the date they mailed it to you for general hardware failure/RRoD only. Everything else would already be out of warranty under the terms of the original 1 year. Your sales receipt is irrelevant, since that would be for a 360 you don't even own anymore. When you sent in your original launch 360, you should have received an invoice/repair order from MS showing the S/N-in and the S/N-out. That would be your new sales receipt, so your warranty against RRoD expires 3 years from the date on that slip -- presumably sometime in early 2009.

Keep in mind you can still pay to have your 360 cleaned/repaired through MS at anytime, even after the warranty is lapsed.

I hope mine is just as fast.

It sucks because I had just got XBL like 2 weeks before this happened.

When I got mine back, it had a free one month membership with it. I suppose they probably do that for anyone that has an active XBL account to make up for the lost time.
