I'm not mad. You were BURNING my zone defense. Although it isn't like zone defense has worked since the last gen. I've literally been asking the coach since the first person complained. Of course I pick out a play from the ask coach I think will work. I actually thought you were going to come back and win that game. The turnovers on both sides were pretty ridiculous. You intercepted a fumble lol.

i am aware of the predictability.. it was really obvious when your safety picked off my wideouts curl route. but when your whole team is within 15 yards from the line of scrimmage and you seem to be blitzing every single play from somewhere running stops being an option and i dont have time for deep passes. so slants, outs and curls become about all i could do. and you intercepted every out route i threw. like i said, incredibly frustrating. i generally try to be a 50/50 team but ive never played a game where the entire defense stayed that close to the line all game.

I would defend myself more... but I don't want to give away what I'm doing on defense or teach people how to combat my defense. There are certain things that never work on defense. I really don't know how I got so many turnovers. I never get that many. It may be a result of the new patch.

I am not saying I never blitzed. I clearly did. but half or less of my sacks came from blitzing, I was repeatedly amazed that someone who is clearly as good at defense as yourself kept getting sacked when id drop 7 men and play as a spy myself. A spy that didnt blitz. dont get me wrong, you are good. Those interceptions were amazingly frustrating and you may have won either way. The way you play however is so irritating that I think I am just going to put it on airplane mode so you can beat me in the championship game, its not fun to play against you. It's not football. I had to change the entire way I play the game because I realized after I was losing 14-0 two minutes into the game that I couldnt play real football against you.

Yeah, you probably should take a look at my post a while back. You are not the first one to mention this.

You pretty much just admitted you cheese. You are not some defensive genius. You found something where you change the setup of the game to get an advantage that you are unwilling to give away, and do it over and over and over again.

Sorry man, but this league is supposed to be about realism not setting up a D you are unwilling to share. We agreed upon that a while ago.

I honestly don't think you get what is going on. Most players here try to switch up things and run the plays the way the game has them set up. You on the other hand move guys around to have 11 in the box at all times and lined up for better coverage. That is not simulating college football, that is finding holes in the game to be used to your advantage. We all could do that and choose not to.

I am pretty much with BS here (I like the initials BTW). Not only is it not fun, but I don't think you are getting this. Run the game like a normal defense would in the real world, not a way which gives you an advantage in this game. I have no idea what ask the coach does, but close to 90% of your plays vs. me were 3-3-5 blitzes with all the team up on the line and your safeties adjusted (and I ran goal line, I form, Pistol, 3, 4, and 5 wide shotgun with no deviation from you). Heck, I knew what you were doing. I eventually found some plays that worked, but you do realize having to run the same or similar plays over and over again because you run the same style of defense over and over again is no fun. Plus, I don't play online vs. cheesers to have time to find the plays that beat your defense and run them over and over and over again until you stop using your defense.

I hate to say this, but at this point you have not gotten the message. I tried to be nice about it last time. You are not the kind of person I want to play against on a regular basis, and if you are still here for next season I will not be.

I don't know because I haven't played jthorp, but even if you call "Ask the Coach" plays 90% of the time, you can still exploit the game. I'm not saying you 100% do, but from looking at stats and from a few users, it does sound and look like you could be exploiting quite a bit (still)

I am also willing to bet you always picked man to man coverage and a blitz while pulling up players to the line and shifting your safeties closer to their man coverage.

The main point behind all of this is it's not fun to play against someone that puts 11 in the box and constantly blitzes. On top of that, it's not realistic. I found plays that beat your defense, and I have no doubt I could have continued to score against you after I found those plays (although with a backup QB and low accuracy there was no possible way to always beat your D). Yet I got tired of having to call the same thing over and over again. It makes the game boring as hell, and incredibly unrealistic. In fact, when we played, the main reason for my two stalled drives in the second half (one leading to a field goal and other one the 4th down) was because I got bored and simply wanted to try some different plays. They didn't work. I finally went back to one I knew worked on 4th and just missed my WR for a TD to tie the game (freaking backup QB).

Like I stated, at this point you simply don't get it. I defended you the first time. I was nice the second time. This is the third time. Plenty of us play D and are successful without having to resort to your style of play. This stuff was exactly the reason I stopped playing this game, and I have no desire to continue to play against that style of play. I have no problem stepping away and you can stay. It's part of the game (albeit something everyone complains about), but I have no desire to continue playing something I simply do not enjoy.

Anybody else tired of having this same conversation every release?

The way I see it there are two options.

1. Say screw realism and just play anything goes. Probably lose 2-3 members.

2. Boot jthorp. Play a "realistic" style. If we go this route, make sure it's well understood that realism will apply to EVERYONE. Not just the guy that everybody gangs up against for that moment.

As for jthorp, it's been well documented both in this thread and in previous versions of the dynasty that people have a problem with the way he plays. Nobody should be surprised at this point. If he sticks around then you have to let go of the whole "playing realistic football" thing. Honestly it's been a farce to begin with, go look at the statistics for everyone's wideouts and defensive ends. Usually people cut that crap out when it comes to user games though, which seems to be the bone of contention here.

Jwinslow I don't envy being in your position on this again. But I hinted to you before we set things up that this was going to come up at some point. If we are in the interest of having a fun, easy going dynasty where the members are enjoying themselves in user games...you know the rest.

Honestly, even though my DE has a ton of sacks, I really do not think it is anything I am doing, I always control the MLB or maybe a safety who is buzzing...

I think there is a precedent for complaints about JThorpe's play. This is not the first time he has been brought up for cheese or cheese like tendencies. I know I personally hate cheese...

JThorpe, I really don't know you and I am not childish enough to hate you purely because you are confused about which university is superior. Best of luck to you.
