One thing I'm wondering is if job offers are like real life, where you typically get a 1 step bump, so a stud DC at BGSU only gets an offer to be the Toledo H C or Wisconsin D C.

As always post any threads dealing with that subject.

I want to make sure that being the dc of Colorado does not put you a step ahead. If it does, then we will have to consider how to pick teams for the real thing

I just finished my first off season... While only winning 5 games as the Kent St OC, I hit several of my one season goals and ended up being offered the HC position at a couple 1* schools and the OC at several other small schools, the top position being the OC at Kentucky. I took it... It was fun to mull over whether to stick another year at Kent or make a big jump to the SEC and a 3 star program.

I am ALL for starting as coordinators. If we end up spread out over different conferences, so be it, we can play non conference games....

I posted this a few days ago regarding coaching carousel... again, the BEST job I was offered after having a great statistical season was OC at Kentucky. and that was the outlier. most of the offers were either coordinator jobs at 2 star programs or HC jobs at 1 star programs, and MOST of those came after the outgoing coaches took the better jobs I wasn't offered.

I would imagine that in starting with a 2star coordinator job, you aren't going to see offers to 5 or six star programs for a couple years. The other thing was that when I took the Kentucky job, there was a message that said I would not be able to take another contract offer until I FINISHED the UK contract I was about to sign. So with some experience, I think users will really think hard before they jump to another school...
