It's time to bring it!
Are the custom schedules done yet, and if not, when will they be ready?
I need to make sure I get a good jump on recruiting in case I get stuck with another 5 minute recruiting week.
In all seriousness though, after looking at my roster when the recruiting was completed, I'm only at around 61 players. I think I'll be losing around another 21 players this year due to graduation alone, so another 2-3 players would have been really nice for me last season. That fact that I got shutout of my chance to host the #1 tackle, #2 OLB, and #6 guard was a bit like rubbing salt in a wound. The good news was that I at least got the WR that I used my 5 minutes on, and that I was able to recruit a player to every one of my positions of need, so I didn't have to take on any walk-ons.
I did notice a couple of things in this version that I found to be interesting (especially since I haven't been playing my personal dynasty lately, and haven't previously gone through the offseason), particularly with regards to position changes.
First, I had recruited a large WR (6' 6" 235 lbs) with hopes that he might convert over to being a receiving weapon at TE. That one didn't quite pan out, in that he still has regular WR STR (around 57 I think) and his blocking isn't very impressive. His OVR as a TE was only a 49. He still has 87 SPD though and is a 75 OVR, so I'm still happy to have him play WR. He's definitely an upgrade over the WR from my original roster that only has 78 SPD (and that's after he gained 2 SPD points from the improvement part of the offseason).
Second, since I already had a FS recruited, I took a chance on another one that was 6' 4" and 220 lbs, but I wasn't sure about his speed. I hoped I might be able to move him over to an LB position if needed. In this case, it worked out pretty well. He has 85 SPD and 68 STR. His rating as a FS was 77 OVR. I moved him to OLB and he's a 74 or 75 OVR. He should make for a nice coverage LB. I'm glad that EA went back to only messing with player awareness for position changes, and not screwing around with SPD, AGI, and ACC ratings.
Going forward, I move that we have Josh save each offseason week so that we can avoid someone getting screwed by not receiving their full recruiting time, or so that we all don't miss out on another entire recruiting week. Anyone want to second this?
