#3 Sparty +1.5 vs #2 Duke (over/under 133.5) Fri 9:45 CBS

So much ticky tack BS in this half though is disgusting. Half of those little hand taps shouldnt be called fouls and werent until the game was going in one particular direction. Mmmhhmmmm.

Much like everyone else around here, I hate a referee in the middle of a basketball game.

The Big 10 has had a nice tournament so far, but at the same time, its obvious they're struggling with the tightness of these games.

Ohio State has squeeked by twice now, but they've had to make huge adjustments as well.

I think the homer in all of us wishes the officiating would let them play, but then you talk to an ACC or Pac 10 fan who says the Big 10 and Big East are boring because it looks more like a football game.

The only team, IMO, from teh Big 10 that probably benefits from a tighter called game is Michigan because they aren't physical. MSU just could not adjust and the tightness obviously had an impact.

The acc team was getting smoked by the refs for breathing on defense. It cost them big minutes for plumlee.

The difference is they greatly outplayed the Spartans while the refs took over.

Game was called tightly both ways no doubt, but at least Plumlee got his monies worth on fouls. The tightness definitely helped Duke more than it hurt them.

If you told Coach K and Izzo they'd both be shooting 1 and 1 with 12 minutes in the second half, Coach K would have smiled and been overjoyed while Izzo would know he was in for a rough night.

Gary Harris got called for 2 fouls trying to bump Curry on cuts around screens which means Curry went untouched a lot when fouls weren't called. Costello couldn't stay in the game because he was a walking offensive foul. Nix was tentative all night trying to avoid offensive fouls.

It was just ugly overall. MSU just couldn't find any rhythm. Appling is probably the only guy who you can say played well for MSU.

This is one game that I would say did not live up to the hype. Rough, low-scoring, lots of fouls, just not very compelling.

Yeah I thought this would be one of, if not the best game this weekend, but it ended up being a clunker. Officiating made the game choppy and MSU just could not hit a bucket.

That was quite the disappointing 2nd half to say the least. MSU couldn't hit a shot to save there lives & the refs unfortunately directly impacted yet another game unnecessarily. MSU had no answer for Curry as he had an incredible game. He was just in one of those moments where everything was falling. Nothing you can really do when a shooter is that hot. MSU kept shooting themselves in the foot when they kept fouling at the very end of shot clocks & Duke going a phenomenal 24-26 from the line sealed there fate. Duke's D really frustrated them & nobody had even a decent day from the field. Duke played great in the 2nd half and even if they were the benefactors of some bad calls down the stretch, they were the better team this night.

He had a rough game, but I still wonder if Gary Harris leaves after his freshman season with Michigan State.

Saw on two draft boards he's Top 20. But it's also early (time to move up/down).

Not in his best interest to do so. I've seen a lot of mocks where he goes undrafted. Unless you're a lock for the 1st round you shouldn't leave early. You'll end up in the D League or Europe in a lot of cases.

Let's hope Deshaun Thomas sees it that way too.
