#25 Ohio State @ Penn State, Saturday December 9th, 6PM EST, BTN

That was brutal. Up 18 I honestly thought we had this game secured against a far less talented PSU team. I was fooled again by this team. I thought this team was improved and poised to make a possible run. We’ll see how they respond but think we’ve seen enough data on Holtman teams. Hope I’m wrong but feels like last year’s January slump started in December. This was a really bad loss.

That was one of the worst halfs I have ever seen.. they should run till they throw up tomorrow
a team under .500 and they blow a what 20-22 pt lead in ONE HALF
I think Holtman should run until he pukes. Maybe his players are losing 2nd halves because they are out of shape, so perhaps they should run, as well. But it's too late to build endurance for this season. They could benefit from a core workout, though, while he runs. It seems to me it's Holtman's responsibility to lead and prevent these implosions. It's unacceptable.

We remained aggressive on the offensive end which is something we didn’t do in previous years. Unfortunately it played into State’s hands. The times we did go into Key he was shut down. We tend to do better getting into the paint and dumping it to the bigs. They also shut that down and we missed at least four buckets at the rim during their run. On the defensive end, you have to come up with something to change the momentum.

Historically they've not handled these types of losses well, under Matta or Holtman. If we're going to split hairs, I think this team is closer to the one that beat Bama than the one that lost the 18 point lead last night - it did take Ped State hitting basically everything they threw up in a game of H-O-R-S-E to get there.

It's all about the next game now. If they bounce back and beat fUCLA, which is by no means a given, then maybe it's different. But if they bottom out and lose 3 or 4 in a row, especially given who is on the schedule, it's same old same old.

Must of dozed off, because when woke up, saw the game was becoming a tussle. Didn't see many PSU open 3's, always saw a hand in their faces, and didn't see any late closing by the Buckeyes, but the final stats show about 60% from the floor. Other than that, bench points were heavily in favor of PS, but that's all. tOSU dominated the boards, shot well (would prefer to see FTs in the high 70s or 80s). Didn't really see a lack of effort from our 1s, but when the 2s got in, nothing stood out. Thought down the stretch no Buckeye wanted to take the shot, seemed like they always threw it to Thornton, except Battle. From the TV vantage, his shot was on a good arc, but just a tad to the left, otherwise we'd have a different story. I'm a big Holtmann fan, but he's gotta utilize his time-outs more effectively, stopping the momentum of the other team, and ratcheting up the Mo for the Buckeyes. Easy to say from my Laz-Y-boy! Go Bucks! PS, looks like the other B10 teams took it on the chin.

They because they had 16 turnovers to Pedo's 8, that was the difference right there, Cronin teams play tough D so they have to take better care of the ball. fUCLA has a roster full of no names but they play hard.

Most of those turnovers came before the collapse truly took hold.

Odd and something to be cleared up, but that's not what killed them.
