I have to say I was a little disappointed in the ending. Setting the ending up for the 24 movie ruined the ending to a great series.

I respectfully disagree.

The best way to end the series is with Jack in the wind. What would be better? Jack exposes the president. He is granted immunity for the murders. Then he flies off to CA to be with his daughter and grandchild to live hapily ever after...I envoke shenanagins on that ending.

I do have to agree that it was pretty cheesy that the CTU guard tasked with protecting the president of the US, the president of Russia, the president of IRK, and the secreterary general of the UN wouldn't look in the back seat.....are you serious. Other than that, i tought the overall storyline to end the series was great.

I agree completely. It is nearly impossible to end a series the right way when you know that a movie will be coming out that will be a continuation of the last season. This wasn't a "series finale" in the true sense. It was just the last time it will be on tv, the movie will be the actual finale.

I thought it was an ok ending, but i agree with most of the comments above. I feel like the last hour of it was a rip off with Jack backing down from shooting the russian president, turning himself in, Taylor exposing herself and then bailing Jack out at the last minute setting him free. I mean come on, the writers basically just got lazy with every single story line at the end.

GPA

i agree with you 100%. could have been better, but it wasnt terrible. im looking forward for the movie, but i have a feeling it will be a lot like 24 redemption (jack running from the govt). i seriously dont get how logans not dead. seriously, he shot himself in the freakin head!

I just started watching season 1, I got the DVD's from the library. I have to say I'm enjoying it. However, I think we've run into a problem. Since the wife and daughter have been rescued they're starting to focus too much on their (Bauer and his wife) relationship. The daughter is starting to piss me off too. Why do shows do this, it's like they think they have to cater to what they think the woman viewer wants. The Sopranos made the same mistake. At least with the DVD's I can fast forward through the estrogen.

Damn, I thought this thread was revived due to a new movie coming out soon.

I would recommend not fast forwarding through any part of 24 - there's not a lot of fat in the show, and you'll run the risk of missing a plot development or ten.

I have to say I'm enjoying this show but as the episodes move along some of these plot twists and developments have become almost comical. I still say that I have to grit my teeth whenever his wife or daughter is on screen.

The writers missed a golden opportunity in the when they didn't have a lesbian scene with Renee Walker and Kim Bauer :)
