Morez Johnson Jr., a 6-foot-9, 225-pound freshman from Illinois has committed to the Wolverines, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed to the Free Press on condition on anonymity because it's not official. Johnson averaged seven points and 6.7 rebounds last season for the Illini and was incredibly efficient around the rim, shooting 64.2% on the season in 17 minutes per night.
It's now the second major acquisition for Dusty May and company in the portal in as many days, after they landed former five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau from North Carolina on Monday. Johnson reportedly also had offers from Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio State and others.
