Cincinnati is a good medium sized city. Old, lots of history, a few decent downtown bar and restaurant districts and decent cultural institutions. My take on Ohio cities:
Place to visit for a weekend: Cincinnati
Place to live: Columbus
Place to send a kid to college: Columbus or Gambier
Place to catch a D-Cell in the back of the head for rooting for the visiting team: Cleveland

Just wear a pro-Brexit button (and not a bloody safety pin) and you'll be welcome most anywhere (although geographic context is important). Lager is lager no matter where you go. Well, sort of. Cheers and have what sounds like a great trip.
