I am expecting our guys to really come out popping in this game. Playing their fourth game in eight days ast night, they played an opponent who had a week to prepare for them. What we saw at the end is true grit kinda stuff. They need to blow these guys out.

I see 8-0 in our future, and I see another pounding coming. I just hope that they can keep level heads and continue to work even know they are winning. I thought they dug down on saturday to win the ISU game, now just go take care of business in this one.

Did a little research on the Tigers...

TSU has only played 4 games, going 2-2. They opened the season with a 72-63 win over Fisk University at home, then lost back to back road games to SE Missouri St. (69-70) and Georgia Tech (72-82). They then traveled to Eastern Illinois and recorded 84-68 win. They are at Southern Miss tonight before traveling to Columbus for Friday's game.

They played their first home game on 11/21 and don't play another until 12/31. There must be something going on with their facilities.

They are lead by Bruce Price, a 6-3 Jr. guard from Minneapolis, who is averaging 18.8 points per game, just over four boards a game, and just under three steals a game. Judging by his numbers, he is struggling mightily from 3-point range (15.8% on the year) but does like to get to the line (he averaged nearly 12 FT attempts a game and is a 72.3% shooter from the stripe).

Two other decent players for TSU are Wayne Arnold, a 6-4 Sr. guard from Lilburn, GA who started his career at UGA and Clarence Matthews, a 6-7 Jr. forward from Beaumont, TX by way of Los Angeles Community College. Both average 14.5 points per game. Arnold can shoot the 3 (61.9% on the year) and can also rebound, averaging over 6 boards a game.

Tennessee State has a big transfer around 6'9" 260 I think that is not eligible for the first half of the season. They changed their schedule around so that he would be able to play in more games. I think they are picked to win their conference and possibly sneek into the dance.

I think everyone should take a step back and realize that this game will not be a cake walk. The Buckeyes must continue to do what they do best and that is shoot the ball from the perimeter. Dials needs to have a huge game for this to be an easy victory, mark it down. They will challenge us.

From ESPN on the game last night

Southern Miss 84, Tennessee State 74

Jarekus Singleton had a season-high 21 points to lead Southern Mississippi past Tennessee State 84-74 on Monday night. Bruce Price had 27 points to lead Tennessee State (2-3), which led by as many as 14 before Southern Miss (4-6) rallied behind Jason Forte, who had 14 of his career-high 18 points in the second half. Southern Miss has won consecutive games for the first time in the past year. The Golden Eagles, who beat William Carey last week, are in the midst of their best run since winning six straight in December 2004. Tennessee State led 34-20 late in the first half before Southern Miss rallied to make it a 5-point game at halftime. The Golden Eagles then outscored the Tigers 50-35 in the second half for the victory. Courtney Beasley also had a career-high 18 points for Southern Miss. Mildon Ambres had 14 rebounds for the Golden Eagles.
Kareem Grant added 18 points for Tennessee State and Clarence Matthews added 12.

I just want to see the Bucks come out and play hard buzzer to buzzer. I don't want to see them play down to their opponents. If they play like they did the last 8 minutes of the Iowa State game, this one shouldn't be close.

But I don't think they will.
