Las Vegas Saturday: Ramsey to wait, a new star arises in Akron
A NEW STAR IN AKRON

Like most 16-under games on a Saturday in Las Vegas, the atmosphere was not the liveliest. That changed quickly and it was not just due to the amount of talent on the floor thanks to the WACG bunch. The GOAT himself, LeBron James, walked through the door with a handful of friends, one of those being Maverick Carter, to take in the uberly-talented team featuring the potential number one prospect in the 2022 class, Chris Livingston.

A native of Akron that will be returning home for his high school ball this fall, Livingston is already being proclaimed as one of the best prospects to hit a high school playing floor within the past several years. He did struggle some on Saturday, settling for perimeter jumpers and forcing things that were not always there, but then again, whenever someone like James is watching, I don’t care how old you are, you’re going to press with the eyes of the king on you.

Standing over 6-foot-5 and with fine length and athleticism to him, Livingston has oodles of upside and potential in the backcourt. Already, UAB and Akron have offered and next month, he told Rivals.com that he will take an unofficial visit to Ohio State, his favorite school growing up

While there may be a shadow that Livingston will have cast upon him, though not as big as James ever had, the talent and raw abilities will place the rising freshman into the spotlight from this day forward.

CANTON, Ohio -- The 17- and 18-year-olds took notice of the 6-foot-5 freshman running up and down the court Saturday with them at Walsh University.

Chris Livingston is considered a phenom by some, a nationally ranked high school basketball player entering his freshman season at Buchtel. He is considered the No. 2 player in the country for the 2022 recruiting class by Future150.com, behind only 6-7 forward Emoni Bates of Ypisilanti, Mich.

Ohio State already offered Livingston a scholarship in mid-August.

"Chris is going to be a real big problem," Richmond Heights senior guard Curtis Houston said. "We've got some real good guys in there, and him being in the ninth grade, that shows he's going to do something."

Did not realize that Chris's brother was his twin brother and have been playing together since they were 5-6 years old. Cordell is nowhere near the player that Chris is but they want to go to college together. In a way, it might be a good thing because when Chris graduates supposedly the one and done rule will be gone so if he wants to play with his brother he will have to go to college after high school.

Not much "action" in the video below. It was interesting to see his twin brother who is quite a bit shorter than Chris.

CANTON, Ohio — Chris Livingston is already on Ohio State’s radar.

Now, the freshman from Akron will get a chance to play at Schottenstein Center.

Livingston, a 6-foot-6 freshman guard who has an offer from the Buckeyes, scored 26 points Friday night with eight rebounds to power Buchtel to the OHSAA state final four in boys basketball. The Griffins beat Villa Angela-St. Joseph, a regular in Columbus, with a convincing 84-70 victory at the Canton Civic Center. It is the school’s first regional championship and state semifinal appearance since 1997.

I've watched Lebron since, his freshmen/senior year and he was a star from day one. I've only seen Chris once against Cleveland St . Josephs and I can tell one thing for sure, Chris is better already His outside shooting , ball handling, driving, speed, jumping is all big time talent and ahead of Lebron at the same age the only thing the past 6 4 freshmen Lebron has on him is strength His twin Cordell is 5 11 Chris is 6 6 now

Chris's team got blown out in the semi finals of the State tournament by Trotwood Madison. 102-72._Chris only scored 13 points. He was in foul trouble in the second quarter. They will be back next year and the next year and the next year. They are stacked
he had 3 fouls in the first 5 minutes that's one thing a bunch of Buchtlel fans were telling me at the last game every game he's in foul trouble and most of it looks like shady calls or soft touches
