Duke jumps into pursuit of Trevor Keels after breakout performance

Keels struggled to respond with an answer when asked of who has stood out in the early goings of his recruitment. However, he has already taken official visits to Ohio State and Virginia, while Maryland, Miami, and Villanova are three others that have kept a close eye on him. Just this week, Duke jumped in with an offer.

Ohio State: “It was good. I actually saw their football team play Wisconsin. It was a great atmosphere. The fans, they all love you and I fit right in.

“They just like my versatility and all the coaches just like that about me and how I could fit in as a big guard.”

Ohio State and Virginia are in a great spot, but the recent Duke offer may have changed some things. Look for Keels to take a slew of visits in the spring, play out his senior summer on the travel circuit with the Team Takeover program, before then taking a greater look at his recruitment, which could lead to a signing next November.

Looks like he is not coming to Ohio State
Latest buzz: One of the players who could ultimately decide which team finishes No. 1 overall in the 2021 team recruiting rankings, the five-star shooting guard has been sitting on his final three of Duke, Villanova and Virginia for some time now. There are valid cases to be made for all three of his finalists and Keels toughness would be welcomed wherever he lands. A decision appears to be coming soon, it is just a matter of whether he decides during or shortly after the early period.

This shouldn't have surprised anyone. The ONLY players in the 2021 class that are still being recruited and would have a committable offer are the POST players like Reid, Bediako, Holmgren and Etienne.

Wings and guards and even Fs who they might have offered long ago were all made MOOT by Malaki's commitment.

Unless they have an unexpected defection of a non-SR before the late period, and depending on Sotos' resolution that might go to the C in the 21 class even at that, they don't have any openings anyway. If two open up I think they'd bank one for 22 and not try for a G or wing late in 21.
