'21 MN C Chet Holmgren (Gonzaga Verbal)

"He had a lot of influence," he said of Suggs. "He is someone I know and trust. We had a lot of casual conversations. He is both a friend and teammate. I could hear it firsthand from him. I would watch him play and watch how the team plays. Then we would talk. It's a culture where everyone comes willing to work."

Might as well come to Ohio State because I do not think you are going to win anything special if you go to Spokane plus your high school teammate Suggs will be gone.

Gonzaga Bulldogs star freshman guard Jalen Suggs to enter NBA draft

Gonzaga freshman guard Jalen Suggs -- the third-rated player in ESPN's Top 100 prospects -- is entering the 2021 NBA draft, he told ESPN on Monday.

Apparently Suggs still influenced his decision to go to Gonzaga.

Article I read seemed to imply that because tOSU got the IU xfer, Holmgren decided to go to the Zags. Everything I read on this post seems to indicate that he was a heavy Zag lean. Timing is suspicious (to me at least), that this might be true, especially if Suggs plans on really going to NBA. Maybe Suggs will return if his draft reading is not high enough, or he's convinced that another year at college level (showing certain traits) would benefit him. Anyway, Holtmann has an opportunity to showcase how he would use a big guy, rather than three forwards and two guards. Still want to see how EJ adapts to playing the four, or maybe tOSU will play a high post offense with a wing (Sueing?) and a low post (EJ - Young). Either way, see minutes squeezed from Towns/Ahrens/Young. Go Bucks!
