it would be one thing if it felt like the d was being beat by exceptional plays but they are being torched by simple execution. Even on that 4th down play, the guy was open and should have caught it.

Illinois can figure out how to get an unblocked defender in to the backfield to blow up a play. Have we seen a play like from the OSU defense all day? All season?

And there’s another one by the same guy. Completely unblocked to make the play in the backfield.

I think Patricia is great when he has exceptional talent to work with. I’m not sure scheme/adjustment wise he’s that awesome when the talent is equal , if that makes sense

Teaching an NFL defensive system to NFL ready players makes a difference.

There has to be a meeting in the middle - the kids have to grow into the system and the system needs to be simplified to allow that growth.
